Article today re the budget. Where are labour going to find the money this time round. Have to admit I haven't a scooby doo.

As a pp has said, there are an awful lot of Palestinian and Algerian flags being carried by older men from the footage I've seen.
British MSM showing something totally different. I'm sure some of the protests have been genuine, ie actual students and parents, but not all.

The attention soon turned to Kemi after that BBC mess. She was being asked too! Apparently she inserted the bit about her children in her speech at the last minute to fend it off. She shouldn't have to do that, and Braverman shouldn't have been singled out by Bruce either.

I've decided that I can't stomach another Labour budget. I've booked a flight for a few days before. Can't be arsed with them.

Did a search on Sagal Abdi Wali earlier Wikipedia etc. there's practically nothing on her anywhere. As an adult. She went to school, went to university (doesn't say if she stayed to get a degree). Then nothing much until 2022 .

I just checked our Welsh MS. It's a lot more detailed, where she lives, her husband's name, her two children who are actually adults now. Perhaps that's naive.

I don’t know what kind of information people want about Sagal Abdi Wali but my understanding is she was a local housing officer in her 20s, before she went into politics. I saw an interview somewhere.

Today’s Times front page headline is about Treasury refusal of money for the NHS (I haven’t read the story).

Waiting lists for elective surgery have gone up two months in a row. A senior NHS official said a few days ago that there are early signs of major winter stress in hospital admissions.

And we heard claim after claim after claim from Labour about how tax hikes would ‘save our NHS’ and how public services would be so much better.

It’s almost as if the government has no idea what it’s doing, that the promises were bullshit, that it can’t control welfare spending, and that its tax policy has crippled business and not benefited anyone. Surely not.

So, the gaping maw of the NHS is tearing holes in Labour’s best laid (ha!) plans. Well I never.

And a deep dive into what Burnham's really been up to oop north wrt the UAE.

Sensing the public mood, Burnham had run on a pledge to eradicate rough sleeping and to use any leverage he had as mayor to push individual councils to “work with responsible developers that will honour obligations to affordable housing”.

And yet, within his first year, he oversaw more than £55m in taxpayer-backed loans to UAE-linked developments, projects that contained no affordable housing.

Manchester Life, a joint venture between Abu Dhabi United Group (ADUG) and the city council, applied three times to the Housing Investment Loans Fund, a pot overseen by the mayor, to develop properties in the east of Manchester around the Etihad Campus, and was successful each time.

None of the 453 homes built on the sites it was developing in Ancoats and New Islington were advertised as affordable housing despite local policies setting a 20 per cent target for developments of that size.

I’m going to guess that when Gulf money, Manchester and Burnham is all investigated they’ll find no criminality, but will find a heap of backscratching deals that Labour would have castigated the Tories for.

In absolute honesty the best thing that could happen to the NHS is not more money, but for someone to go in and sort out their systems and management processes. That’s where it’s wasted.
