MULLETS are back??? Omg. "Business in the front, party in the back!" 🤣🤣🤣
My distaste for male facial hair makes me feel old. It's absolutely everywhere now and I think it started around the year 2000. My formative years were in the Eighties, when all the desirable men on TV and in pop bands etc were perfectly clean-shaven. Dex Dexter, Jeff Colby, George Michael....NO ONE had beards or moustaches. They were seen as this embarrassingly nerdy grim trend from the Seventies that would never see the light of day again. Yet here we are....
My love for Eighties style long, bouncy feathered cuts also ages me. Again, in the Eighties we would laugh at the Seventies style of long, straight, flat centre-parted hair as the ultimate dorky, old-fashioned hair style. The sartorial equivalent of huge bell-bottoms. And now, the majority of female teens and younger women wear that exact style, flat as a pancake with a severe centre parting. To me it looks like the kind of hair a nun might have, or an old washer-woman from 19th century photographs. Or the dreaded Seventies.
Yup. We in the Eighties and Nineties thought that male facial hair and flat centre-parted hair would never see the light of day again.
Now THIS is what I call a hairstyle!
I was watching something from the early Nineties the other day, can't remember what, and it was so nice to see the natural body in everyone's hair. Looked really soft and natural and flattering, compared to the flat-ironed hair we often see today.
