Daniel Thomas refused bail over alleged boat damage in Channel - BBC News https://share.google/lVkoNYBhOr44gCN4q

So it's one rule for the people arrested at Fairford, and anovver for our brave lad Tommo ?

Two Tear Justice at it's best

No one has ever heard of him until it was mentioned on Mumsnet. Apparently.

Those who do mention his criminal activity and past jail sentence on MN are elevating him to Christ like status and encouraging his go fund me account.

Posted this on another thread - quite repulsive really, so sorry! It’s from
Yorkshire Rose, a right wing auditor - despicable for her views and also imo desecrating God’s own county!

I find this very distasteful tbh. As well as him holding up a Bible.

cardibach · 29/09/2026 14:01

I’m not a believer, but I know enough about Christianity to find this sort of performative ‘Christianity’ offensive.

He's not the first person to use religion as a theatrical prop to his act and he won't be the last.

That’s true, Trump has done exactly the same thing.

Laurence Fox does it too. He has a cross tattooed on his throat. It is sooooo classy.

What’s sad is the fact that some Christians are actually taken in by it.

It's also breaking the Third Commandment. Although I understand that commandments - and indeed the bible - are not really what Christianity is about.

(Yes, I have been told that to my face).

That isn’t correct at all. The ceremonial law (Leviticus) isn’t for today, but the Ten Commandments certainly are.

It's just a modern day version of the crosses tattooed over borstal marks.

Not quite as repellent as Russell Brand being baptised in the Thames 🤢, at least Tommo kept his top on

It's a great speech so far from Andy Burnham. No grandstanding behind a lecturn.

All good 😊

Especially liked the no building on the utilities on the Monopoly board.

I’m impressed so far. Winding back some of Thatcher’s ill conceived iniquities suits me just fine.

LizzieW1969 · 29/09/2026 14:48

I'm watching his speech, he’s doing very well.

TemperanceWest · 29/09/2026 14:50

I have to be honest about what the country can afford.

I will stick to our fiscal rules to get borrowing and debt down.

The approach I am outlining today is the responsible one.

If we build a generation of council homes, we will save billions from the housing benefit budget over the decade.

If we get energy bills down, we will better control inflation and support the economy.

If we change the way we support people, we will get more people into work and the welfare bill down, not through crude cuts – that should never be the Labour way - but by investing in people in their success, supporting them to get where they want to be rather than pay for failure as the country does now.

Seems good to me.

It is good. But there’s no point in building loads of social housing unless right to buy is ended.

BIossomtoes · 29/09/2026 15:07

The triple lock’s going and quite right too. That’s very good news. I’m a bit bewildered by his promise that nobody on the state pension alone will pay for care. He hasn’t mentioned the savings limit which is what creates the cut off for free care.

Hmmmm

probably best not look too closely at the commandments really. They are overly concerned with the sex (or is it gender) of your slaves.

I mean by all means start going on about it being "different now". But then how come it's different for (say) slavery and not different for homosexuality ?

For better or for worse I have always felt more comfortable not outsourcing my conscience. A conscience that apparently is God given.

But will he back down if there is a revolt?

Who’s going to revolt?

placemats · 29/09/2026 15:16

There's something in my eye.

That was an emotional at times speech.

Bring it on Andy Burnham.
