Well it's up to the voters to remove them then.

As I say, that's how the system works. For us all.

I expect they will as soon as they get the opportunity.

Admittedly a parliamentary seat, but Clacton cleaved to chaos with cuntychops ?

Glad your house wasn't been flooded, but it sounds like a boat could be useful @Grumpyoldpersonwithcats

Unsurprisingly almost every house on the street (including us) have boats.
Sybil sitting on an inflatable just after the 2014 flood. 😆

When I drove down a series of islands in the Gulf of America 😀from Louisiana, all the houses were on stilts with boats tied up undeneath them

It was an interesting drive. Many small towns, several with the sheriff sitting at the inward road to the community.

It's a gorgeous moon tonight and it's certainly shining and smiling down.

Walk outside and greet the harvest moon.

I'm good, thanks! 🥶

We've enjoyed watching it rise while we have our dinner.

I’m not sure. It’s a sure fire vote loser as far as I can see.

You would think so, wouldn't you? But judging by their previous actions I'm afraid I'm not convinced.

Whisper it. I put the heating on tonight. First time since the start of May.

This week night time temperatures are in double figures,. some as high as 18C.

Didn't even get that warm during the day, here.

I'm wearing a vest.

DuncinToffee · 28/09/2026 09:11

I have stopped wearing shorts but it's not that chilly yet here.

Temps low ish over night here but still 18-20 during the day this week. Had to dig out a jumper to go to work this morning but probably won’t need it to come home.

RafaistheKingofClay · 28/09/2026 10:59

I say lowish but tomorrow night looks like a low of 15. These temps are mad given it’s October this week.

I was on a course for a week in mid October 2015 in Maidenhead. It didn't go below 15 - even at night. Astoundingly beautiful vistas of New England type carpets of russet across the Chilterns.

placemats · 28/09/2026 11:23

Spent a half term week in October with family and friends in Aldeburgh around 2004 and the weather was glorious. The following week was the start of November and that's when it started to get frosty and cold.

Depressing but what a great name for an Indian restaurant! Rivals the one in Burton on Trent which is called Balti Towers.

cardibach · 28/09/2026 11:28

My birthday is in half term and it is often lovely weather. I did a firewalk on my 60th without a coat and obviously in bare feet and in the evening for the dark!

Yes was thinking the same about the name. Have been to Balti Towers.

PickAChew · 28/09/2026 11:53

5 when I ngot up, this morning but we're getting 15 tomorrow night, too - and fog. Mouldy weather.
