Jesus. I despair. I really don’t know how we come back from this as a country.

I know. I really do despair. 😢

cardibach · 22/09/2026 21:43

Yusuf seems to be inciting (or at least predicting) violence against members of the government here. Is that allowed now? They seem allowed to do anything they want.

God, that’s really sinister. Another one whose (Sri Lankan) parents must be proud of him.

Fucking hell, from the Hampshire live blog, a child

Hundreds of people are out in Gosport facing a police line.

Crowds of masked protesters are now confronting a police line to chants of “let them drown” sung by a child over a megaphone.

Of course it's a safeguarding issue first and foremost. Secondly it's absolutely appalling. What parent behaves like that?

DuncinToffee · 22/09/2026 22:19

There were children present on previous riots as well

If this was in Northern Ireland, it would be national and international headline news.

I can’t bear to listen to Trump’s voice, I always turn the sound down whilst he’s speaking, and listen to the commentary afterwards.

I hate it too. It repulses me.

That is really bad.

Llttledrummergirl · 22/09/2026 22:52

Social services will be busy.

That is rather loaded language.

This was shared on the Trump thread, a body language expert on the Burnham-Trump meeting.

Burnham did well.

Burnham did well.

Just watched that - interesting analysis.
Basically Burnham didn't get it wrong.
I think that's about as well as any nation's leader can do dealing with an entirely unpredictable Trump.

BIossomtoes · 23/09/2026 08:55

Hats off to him, he did better than I expected.

DuncinToffee · 23/09/2026 08:59

I heard a bit of Burnham's speech on the AI and Russia on the radio and thought how lovely it was to hear a bit of Scouse rather than RP

Like a shit messiah

Is that a messiah that dwells on bodily functions or a messiah that's hopeless?

placemats · 23/09/2026 10:03

Thanks for the video Duncin.

Burnham did indeed do well.

The answer to this question may simply be 'yes'.

The answer to this question may simply be 'yes'.

Meant to add or both, but couldn't edit. He's found his USP at last!

MsJinks · 23/09/2026 11:42

Going back to boat smashing - Tommo has always been oddly desperate to do this - well many are - it was attempted in France by some and they got kicked out of the country.
Re the kids - abhorrent- but no surprise as I’ve seen them at hotel protests shouting absolutely obscene as well as bike stuff with their loving parents. Heard 2 teachers muttering about Monday safeguarding referrals one time - I do wonder what Monday share what we did at weekend sounds like - yes some of these kids were young enough for this and even too young!

DuncinToffee · 23/09/2026 11:48

6 arrests made and an investigation into 'tommo'

Glad to see that Daniel 'privately educated' Thomas is being investigated.
I don't understand how these ex public school boys hold such an attraction for working class men?

Thomas, Farage, Lowe...

One thing John Cleese is 100% right about is the prism of class in Britain. b
