Does anyone else keep a sex diary?

Is it just me that keeps a sex diary?! Not in a written account of the sordid details way, but I'll put a little x on any days DH and I have had sex on my calendar.

I mentioned it to a friend recently and she thought it was really bizarre! I had to admit actually it is a little pointless!

It stemmed from when I was planning my pregnancy many years ago, but I cant seem to shake the habit now and like to keep track still 😂

Does anyone else do this or do I stand alone?!

I did it once with my ex to prove that we were having regular sex when he would throw it in my face.
Now I’m in a healthy relationship I don’t need to do it

didntlikeanyofthesuggestions · 03/09/2026 16:34

Yes, I write position, length (duration before anyone asks) and marks out of ten plus any injuries sustained.

You don’t keep count of orgasms?

Amateur.

No need - we run to a schedule we have set days/times.

Its all very boring erm I mean civilised 🥴

Same here, there was a thread about it, The Fucking Frequency Spreadsheet it was dubbed.

Hmm that's interesting actually, as I did in fact use it to show my ex how little we were having it, due to him checking out of the relationship. Wish I had seen the thread about it previously!

A New Year’s Eve PowerPoint presentation! I love it!

Is this a new incarnation of the penis beaker thread 🤔

wishfulthinking25 · 03/09/2026 17:05

When I was trying to get pregnant yes, not now though haha

Krevlornswath · 03/09/2026 17:06

No.

Surely unless there is some sort of problem, this wouldn't actually be necessary (allowing for perhaps if a person were trying to conceive as a valid reason). In that case better to start journaling about what the problem actually is than documenting it on a calendar. If a partner approached me with evidence like this I'd be a bit annoyed to be honest, why not just have a mature conversation if there's something you need to talk about.

MantleStatue · 03/09/2026 17:07

No, sadly. Never occurred to me but Ive been married 22 years.

We are a childfree house this evening and I did have to say to DH that we might need to be a little 'creative' because he's been working abroad the past 7 months so I never bothered to keep up with my contraception. Cos what's the point, right? I'm 53 mind you, but don't need any little surprise last gasps of fertility taking their A-levels in 16 years.

shimasu · 03/09/2026 17:08

It's how I found out my ex was cheating. They put an x in their diary every time they had sex with their lover.

Sunbringer · 03/09/2026 17:10

Yeah I think that’s really odd if you’re not TTC.

Yes, I do the X for sex in my diary.

OldrNWisr · 03/09/2026 17:36

Oh good! I thought I was weird, nice to know it’s not just me.

BatshitIsTheOnlyExplanation · 03/09/2026 17:39

Mine would be pretty much a blank notebook 😂

allymccoist · 03/09/2026 17:44

Yes I do, but I record lots of things in my diary, where I’ve been, books I’ve finished, films I’ve seen, etc so I feel like it’s just another part of life that I like to track iyswim

It's really not that deep!

That's on another spreadsheet.

I scrapbook our shenanigans, I include photos, cute stickers and journalling.

You're assuming a problem. Some of us just want to track our mojo. Data is a wonderful thing, whatever you end up making of it. I also track weight, exercise, finances etc and keep a daily journal.

Snap, I also keep a note of my weekly weight too and money in/out for bills. Helps keep me organised!
