Questioning the timing of Meghan Markle's product advert?

We’ve literally just lost Dolly Parton - an actual icon, a legend, and a woman who did more for children's literacy and charity than most governments.

And what does Meghan Markle do exactly FOUR HOURS after the news breaks? She drops an ad for her new "spiced apple butter." under her As Ever brand

AIBU to think there is zero chance this was an accident? She just couldn't stand the global news cycle not being about her for five minutes. Any normal, decent PR team would immediately pull a condiment launch out of respect. Instead, she deliberately pushed it through to piggyback on the trending algorithms and steal the limelight.

It is absolutely vile. Dolly was a total class act, and Meghan is literally trying to sell overpriced jam over her grave. I am just so sickened by the sheer, unadulterated narcissism of it. Tell me I'm not the only one seeing exactly what she's doing here?

What are you on about @OpalAmber ? Do you run that Instagram account that just picks fault at every tiny thing she does? Why do people hate her so much?

Yes, there’s a similar post on AIBU about demanding to see photos of the children which of course no-one normal gives a shit about at all. A number of posters are pointing out that Meghan has herself already posted rather a lot of pictures of their children on Instagram, so the OP can fill her/his boots over there.

I do suspect it’s silly PR people firing off and playing games on MN.

But, but, where is the butter? I'm feeling short changed if that is really how you make apple butter. I was imagining an unctuous, buttery spread flavoured with apple and cinnamon and now I feel only terrible disappointment and sadness. Oh well, life goes on.

OP, firstly, most of the world has no idea that DP had an "apples with cinnamon" recipe, which incidentally most British cooks create if they make an apple pie, without even thinking.

Secondly, most of us know that ad creation and placement take more than four hours.

And the whole world is NOT searching the internet for news of DP. She died, it's very sad and a huge loss to music and philanthropy. End of story
