I was woken by my 7 year old crying because his 12 year old brother said he would give him £6 if he licked his feet. Then refused to give him the £6 after the feet were licked.

For the record I have enforced the £6 debt in the hope it will teach the 12 year old not to make stupid bets with his brother. FML.

All three cats doing zoomies at 5 am. I slept downstairs last night because of the heat.

The news about Jason Arday. I'm shocked. Not least about how it's being reported as if it's nothing really. Not that the man was hounded and hounded to the point of feeling he wanted to die.

I mistakenly read this as did you wake up this morning. Becomes a thing after you reach a certain age.

Used to be an old boy down the pub who would answer the question of how he was with, well I woke up this morning so that's a bonus.

I woke up to piles of washing to do. It's my turn to do the washing for the community cafe this week.

Electrical burning/overheating has a very distinctive smell.

I would be super vigilant if I were you.

Any type of electrical fault can occur at any time, and circuit breakers only trip in very specific circumstances.
They don't protect you from everything.

Not meaning to be alarmist, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

@WheresThatCatGoneNow can you remember scaletrix sets from the 70's/80's and the smell when they overheated? It was like that. I turn off all plugs that I can at night (apart from the Fridge and freezer).
I wonder if something was burning elsewhere and the smoke drifted? Hmmm

My 6 year old attempting unsuccessfully to creep into my bed without waking me up. I pretended to be asleep until she arrived and then feigned surprise!

A meowing, purring cat around 4.30am, he returned about 7am doing the same thing. He's forgiven.

The sound of a car with a modified exhaust that screeched and backfired. I am often woken up by these idiots, sometimes several times a night. The police, needless to say, do nothing.

My little boy (2) asleep in my bed who woke at 8.30 then cuddled into me 🥰

My 3 year old asking me to take him to the toilet, but DH got up instead and I got to sleep in til 10am. Delightful!
