What did you wake up to this morning?

I was woken by my 7 year old crying because his 12 year old brother said he would give him £6 if he licked his feet. Then refused to give him the £6 after the feet were licked.

For the record I have enforced the £6 debt in the hope it will teach the 12 year old not to make stupid bets with his brother. FML.

What nonsense have you woken up to this morning?

My husband brushing the hair off my face and saying I love you darling 🖤

RaginaPhalange · 15/08/2026 10:50

My 5 year old shouting "mummy" from his bedroom, I went in to check on him and asks "can I have a cuddle?"

mondaytosunday · 15/08/2026 10:54

I woke at 5.20am in advance of alarm at 5.30 as I had to go to Heathrow to collect my DD arriving from Columbia via Miami at 7. Flight was delayed and even though the tracker said they were landing at 6.44am then 7.05am they actually arrived at 7.15 and she came through customs at 8.20! £15.50 charge for parking for an hour. Long journey - she left her hotel in Columbia at 3am Friday morning.

5am, first round of medication and hang new milk for my 6 year old, bedtime (for me) is after his midnight milk and meds so I feel like I am wading through treacle some days. He's got a sleepover at the hospice this week and I am really looking forward to not having to get up at 5am for a few days.

Peoplehuvtaeknow1 · 15/08/2026 10:55

DH off early to work, left our 3 dogs in kitchen. Usually the year old pup is in his crate as he's destructive. Walked in to find the little prick has ripped up and destroyed our kitchen lino. I mean, its totally fucked.
I've had a breakdown, sobbed like a twat and booked him in for neutering. The pup not DH.
Meant to be cleaning the house as inlaws visiting tomorrow. Really dont see the point seeing as our kitchen is wrecked. What a fuckin mess.

i went round the house but all good. i did have the windows open so someone nearby burning stuff maybe???

Isn’t there something medical where one of the symptoms is smelling burning?

A text from waitrose to say my food was on the way but payment had failed and could I pay now. I sensed a scam so woke my son for his opinion. Apparently not a scam and my delivery arrived at 8am. All put away and I took myself back to bed with a tea.

RhapsodyBohemian · 15/08/2026 10:56

Flamenco music kept me awake until gone 1am.
Then I had a tension headache (approaching storms give me headaches- I'm a good barometer haha!)

Then I heard.my DP getting up for work and thought eff it, I'm getting up haha!

I'm up at the butt crack of dawn on Monday as we're going on holiday. (The only time I like getting up early!)

Thebinisrightthere · 15/08/2026 10:58

My alarm going off at 9.20am in time for our hotel breakfast. I set it as late as possible as I didn't fall asleep till around 3am

AMurderofMurderingCrows · 15/08/2026 10:58

The magpies, collectively known as 'The Maggies', fighting over the food that the hedgehogs left.

Got up, asked DH to make me a coffee, he sighed and said 'I'm trying to watch a one legged man lay a stone path' 😱

On naming birds, we had a pigeon I called Donny after Trump because he was a terrible sex pest to the lady pigeons.

ETA: I love Sid and Nancy and Kurt and Courtney. Excellent name choices 🤣

They will get quieter when the juveniles leave home. (Same as parents with teenagers)

Thank goodness. We have to run the gauntlet of them in Lidl car park as there are some young ones around.

GreenCaterpillarOnALeaf · 15/08/2026 10:59

“YOU DROOLED ON ME” because I drooled on my husband and he obviously doesn’t love me as much as he says he does 🙄. Then son walks in and announced his poo won’t flush and climbs into bed (I don’t think he washed his hands if I’m honest). Poo flushed, crisis averted, breakfast served.

weegiemum · 15/08/2026 10:59

Dog wanted out. Luckily Dh got up and did it and I went back to sleep!

shellyleppard · 15/08/2026 11:00

@Fluffyunicorns i did think that 😕

Watchoutforthedeer · 15/08/2026 11:01

A long list of jobs to do and events across the day. Have 3 completed so far.

itsgettingweird · 15/08/2026 11:01

To my clock saying 5.50am. What’s that all about?!

DS woke up at 9.30am so can’t even blame him (he is 21!)

Im usually up at 4.15am but im on leave and there’s no swim training so I was annoyed even though technically it was a lie in 😂
