Im sure they'll be lots of judgement on here as always but here we go

I really wish I hadn't married my 1st husband. He was a loser and still is.
I find 99% of kids so dull

Periodically I have to check that my telekinetic powers still haven’t surfaced! I try to push a door, or summon the tv remote with my mind. Subconsciously I am convinced that I have these dormant powers because I’m also a tiny bit disappointed when it doesn’t work.

Oh Man. Same here. I try mind reading too.

muggart · Today 12:50

Women are generally better than men- they’re more productive, contribute more to society (albeit in ways not measured by gdp), and kinder. Men as a group are only alright because a small number of exceptions really outperform and carry the rest.

Mothrasstillmoshing · Today 12:51

As well as having a vampire dinner list I also never leave the house without my imaginary Dirty Harry style Magnum or a bazooka.
When I come across arseholes who: drive badly, drive dangerously, drive an Audi/BMW/KIA/a*hole style car appallingly, shoplifters, bad dog owners, people who treat their kids/parent/partner badly, people at the supermarket who 'guard' the section they're in with their trolley so you can't get to the food until they've finished examining ever packet of bacon in front of them & then choosing the first packet they looked at, people who let doors slam in your face, people who don't say thank you when you do something nice like hold the door/lift for them, litterers, bad parkers, pavement parkers, people who refuse to pay for the bus or try to use a duff bank card & then cry about having to get somewhere really important so that the driver lets them on anyway etc...I shoot them with my magnum or the bazooka if I'm in the car.
My sibling drives a KIA and I shoot him too because he drives very badly in it😆
I am aware that this makes me a very bad person.

Whatbloodysummer · Today 12:52

That I get really annoyed by people who continually moan and complain about their partners/kids/relatives/jobs/houses etc, but never, ever bloody do anything to change their own lives/circumstances/careers etc!

Boils my piss so much I have to hold my tongue from saying 'You've complained about that for years ffs, when the fuck do you think you'll actually DO something to change it???'

I regret getting married because I've been in an abusive marriage for 30 years and have wanted to leave for a reeallly long time but have never been able to find a way to. Yet.
The problem with marriage is that as well as it entailing a lovely wedding day wearing a pretty dress where everyone celebrates you, it also entails entering a legal contract which nobody explains to you. What's yours is theirs etc like gambling debts and STDs from their adultery. For better or worse, possibly much worse.
When you do things that people expect you to do together, such as taking out a mahoosive joint mortgage, nobody points out that if your partner suddenly stops paying their half of the mortgage (simply because they are a selfish wanker for example) the bank will expect you to pay their half too and if you can't afford it, you could end up homeless despite having a decent job and always supporting yourself independently prior to meeting your prince. This isn't exclusive to marriage of course, it can happen to cohabiters too.
If I ever get out of this marriage, I will never marry or cohabit again. Fuck that. Enjoy your independence.

Thank you. I think these issues need to be spoken of more openly as people assume it's a utopia and have no real grasp of the suffering that goes on.

I think my fear was that I'd end up with someone who suffocated me. I just wasn't emotionally ready...yet I sometimes now deal with judgement.

In general people are shamed for not marrying. It's really strange.

I really resent tech enthusiasts who embrace all tech, being so eager to prove how advanced and forward thinking they are. They are just putty in the hands of billionaires and no more than blind sheep really, but act like they are so 'fingers on the pulse' and sneer at those who resist changes. I'm not suggesting society shouldn't progress but anything that can potentially change the fabric of society should be considered very very carefully. The tech companies merely make the product, it's the consumers who make the changes. Those who queued up for smart phones in the early 2000s and convinced every business to go entirely digital and eliminate human contact, the people who work in this field, they all have some blood on their hands here. They brought us porn addiction, shortened attention spans, a generation of socially inept young people and a myriad of other negative things. Now they are using AI for basic tasks causing untold damage to the environment and potentially screwing over another generation in terms of employment, again they are just silly little pawns for tech giants but act like they are so cutting edge. I used to feel a disconnect with people like this but now I actively dislike and disrespect them. They didn't realise 25 years ago what the consequences would be but now they do and still pursue it.

Agree completely; I have been saying this for years.

the80sweregreat · Today 12:57

I knew someone who did nothing but moan about their spouse and didn’t change anything for lots of reasons. Sadly he passed away and now it’s all about how wonderful they were.
Humans are strange arnt they. We all lie to ourselves a lot I think as well. I can see why people don’t like each other though

I think no one really knows how to advise the vast majority of people with mental health issues on psych meds especially SSRIs and a lot of people, especially women, have ended up with net worse outcomes because some GP believed they weren’t fattening or habit forming, which they are for many. And people who can’t lose the weight and have sexual dysfunction and may not be able to get off them may have been better off of they hadnt started

and then gaslights the woman when she says this is making me gain weight 'oh you must be exercising less' (seen it on here too)

Tyler22 · Today 13:00

I love my Mum, she's my biggest cheerleader and my best friend.

I am still upset with her for a decision she made when I was a child that I believe still impacts me now. I was 7 and it completely interrupted my development, caused me to develop depression and an eating disorder that has plagued me all of life. I truly believe that had she not done that, I would be a completely different person.

Mothrasstillmoshing · Today 13:01

Thank you so much for this thread @2ndNatureTime
It's been very cathartic 😊

TheAmberKoala · Today 13:02

I havent told anyone apart from my husband Im on wegovy.
I feel I would be judged and the assumption made its because I eat an unhealthy diet or eat too much. Its become obvious there are other underlying issues at play because Ive lost significant weight without changing much in what i eat or what exercise I do.

My mother is a good person who did her best, but she is very damaged and passed on a lot of trauma to me. She still has no comprehension of what she did to me. It has been and still is extremely difficult being her daughter and I sometimes wonder if it'll be easier when she's gone.

I can really relate to your post @Lemonapplepear. I just didn't have a great relationship with my mother and she wasn't a bad person, she was damaged and couldn't deal with it and I became her prop (from the age of 12 years old). Although I loved her and had some positive feelings towards her, my life honestly has felt easier and more free since her passing 2 and a half years ago. I have literally never once had that feeling of I wish I could see or speak to my Mum one more time - which so many people with healthy relationships talk of!

So I want to give you hope - and don't feel guilty about it Flowers.

I'm 40 and have never been in a relationship or had sex.

I spent most of my 20-30s caring for my mum who was unwell and it just never happened. My siblings managed to escape but as the oldest it fell to me to do all of the appointments, emergency hospital visits, and organize everything. Having to be home overnight in case she had a flare or a fall, and dealing with that.

I had no choice because there was no one else to do it and she would have died if I hadn't taken care of her but now she's passed I'm realizing just how much of my life I lost. I resent it, and my siblings for letting me carry it all by myself. I'm probably never going to have children of my own and it makes me incredibly sad at times.

You are only 40 Op . There is still time

pinkyredrose · Today 13:07

PineappleCandy · Today 13:07

Secretsquirrel2 · Today 08:46

@PineappleCandy I understand.
I was a carer too.
I put on 8 stone.
I ate everything to hand and nearly drank myself to death. My siblings did fuck all.

You've done so well already to lose four stone.
You're only 40!
Fwiw I've lost six stone. It's taken three years but I know I won't put it back on because I can now look at myself in the mirror.

I haven't lost four stone unfortunately! I'm over 20 stone currently and genuinely think I'll never loose the weight.

I started menopause when I was 38 so I don't think I'll ever have kids of my own.

Yep. There is this idea that if they wanted to lose the weight they could, or should, which is nonsense. Some women - myself included - have to eat tiny amounts of food not to be very obese, there are threads on here about it. It’s really finely balanced and a lot of men think it’s all “eat sensibly and move more”. Eating a strict 1000 calories is not what they mean by “sensibly” but that’s where many of us are at and ill considered medication would tip it all over. If I were 5kg heavier than I am now - and it would take very little to get there - my life would be a lot worse, this is not just vanity

EmailsaysOOO · Today 13:13

@Rafeal,yes some people might use commuting time for personal stuff true but I think the time spent with personal stuff is greater than that in a lot of cases.

When im walking by myself and its late or quiet I do a little internal monologue like i have been murdered amd crimewatch are broadcasting my story. 'Angrybird was last seen coming out of the co op with a family bag of wotsits and 4 doughnuts. Its not known is she was meeting anyone, but the crisps have never been recovered. Don't have nightmares.

I do this too - I've watched too much Crimewatch and I scare myself doing it but can't stop!

I wish I had never bought my current horse.
Although I adore her, she has medical issues that means she won't make old bones.
I know she's going to break my heart sooner than I am ready for.

She was going to be my last horse (had at least one since 18) but I don't feel ready to hang my hat up. We were meant to grow old together 😭

She might live longer if you stop riding her as that will put stress on her body. Take her for walks instead and do what's best for her health!

When I ride my bicycle, I like to pretend I’m riding a horse. I have a whole cross country course on my commute to work with different speed bumps as jumps and sometimes I score myself for the approach. As I run through the Greenwich Foot Tunnel pushing the bicycle, I’m competing in the in-hand section of the gaited pony show.

It passes the time.
