Im sure they'll be lots of judgement on here as always but here we go

I really wish I hadn't married my 1st husband. He was a loser and still is.
I find 99% of kids so dull

She's asking you because you're too helpful and useful. I think if your husband matched you, she might change her preference. God bless you and all the other women who have given so many unpaid caring hours to others.

Well DH would need to learn to drive first. At the age of 60 I doubt that will happen.

She asks for me when she's ill because I'm female and she's feeling vulnerable. DH steps in when she gets over the top and demanding, but she won't listen to him until I stop answering my phone.

I think no one really knows how to advise the vast majority of people with mental health issues on psych meds especially SSRIs and a lot of people, especially women, have ended up with net worse outcomes because some GP believed they weren’t fattening or habit forming, which they are for many. And people who can’t lose the weight and have sexual dysfunction and may not be able to get off them may have been better off of they hadnt started

I love my boyfriend but I really don’t want us to live together. In fact I’m always happiest with a boyfriend but who lives somewhere else. At the moment as I get older this is exacerbated by tricky digestion and I really like being in my own space to deal with any discomfort or urgency. I think if I live with my bf, who is the best bf I have ever had and the best man I have ever met, he will need so much of my attention I will start to resent him, because his ideal day is pottering about with someone to attend and pass him things and I am just thinking “can you just say what you need me for and I’ll do that and then bugger off and get on with my own stuff”. I think his ideal day is of living with is that the attended pottering would never have to end. That would kill me. I want to concentrate and do my own projects. I don’t think I can be clear about this without losing him and I am worried I’m stringing him along.

I lived in a student house at uni separate to my husband, then we were long distance, then when we moved in together he worked away a lot. We'd been together 13 years pre COVID before I realised I NEED him out of the house a few days a week!

We're relocating and he's going to have to travel for work again and I CAN'T WAIT.

I wish I didn’t get married, and I’ve done it twice.

the80sweregreat · Today 12:11

I wish sometimes I hadn’t been so desperate to marry. He is one of the good guys ( not perfect , but not terrible ) but it seemed to be my life’s work to do what my siblings did and I can’t think why now. Maybe love is blind ! I think today’s young and particularly women are far more switched on with not marrying and that’s good.

Thebutterflyslovemybush · Today 12:11

That my neice is a judgmental, hypocritical so and so. She's part of a non mainstream religion (cult) and married to a very odd man. She reckons women who don't have children are selfish (i don't have children) and puts posts up on FB about it. She has two little ones that she absolutely couldn't have coped with without the help of her parents and her MIL cos her husband is a useless, self centred twat. She's an ardent anti vaxxer and anti establishment too, despite being happy to take advice from AI when it suits. Her oldest is a little shit and I'm convinced he's going to turn into quite a nasty man one day, I've never seen a child be quite so manipulative and nasty. I'm not the only one in my family that sees this, but i wouldn't say it all out loud to anyone

Ok this is a dark one but no judgement please because some will be horrified.
I'm disappointed, that having been diagnosed with incurable cancer, that it's taking so long to actually die.
The hospital gave 6-18 months and I'm nearly at 3 years. Don't get me wrong, I have had fun, spent time with friends/family and done lots of fun stuff but now I'm so fucking tired of it all. My body isn't as it was and I'm bored with waiting now. My employer sacked me illegally leaving me with an ongoing fight through the ET service and I'm so tired of it all now. My DP treats me like I'm a decrepit imbecile and I know people are side eyeing me because I'm still here and they're wandering whether I'm actually ill at all.
Pfft...

No judgement. In my line of work I often see people who are terminally ill and I have often wondered what I would do if diagnosed - wait for the end, or speed things up. A line of thought triggered again this morning reading about poor Lucy Davis.

This is a tread about things you wouldn't tell people, a time to tell people your cheeky little secrets but then there's you who choose to be offended by them and feel the need to try and make people feel bad.
That's very different from someone calling someone out for ruining what was a good thread, hopefully you can take 2 seconds to think why you need to do that? It's like having a little troll judging everyone's actions.
No ones perfect, you don't need to tell people off for using a hosepipe, maybe share something naughty you've done, come on I'm sure you're human!

This has been helpful to remind me I need to water the plants . No hosepipe ban here albeit ill be using a watering can.

I say most of mine out loud though , depending on the audience. I’d sterilise a lot of the population to prevent unsuitable people procreating maybe one I don’t say outside the house. But that because my criteria is quite wide!

AndTheSnakesStartToSing · Today 12:16

This one always makes me feel like the worst person, I don’t like making my way into a shop and having to walk past homeless people who sit near the doorway, sometimes with a dog. It makes me feel uncomfortable as I’m going about my normal business.

I wish I had never bought my current horse.
Although I adore her, she has medical issues that means she won't make old bones.
I know she's going to break my heart sooner than I am ready for.

She was going to be my last horse (had at least one since 18) but I don't feel ready to hang my hat up. We were meant to grow old together 😭

I bought my 'last horse' 16 years ago... it was a mistake.
He's beautiful, but deranged and needs very specific handling.
Frankly he's barely safe but I didnt want to pass him on.
Love him... but I wish I'd bought something entirely different.
(he's an arabian... IYKYK)

Got another one - I think plenty of women want WFH to be able to get household chores and childcare done easier and I don't believe that they make the time up. Well maybe some do but I'm convinced a lot of them don't..

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · Today 12:22

I am terrified that my physical condition is never going to improve. I have long covid that has left me with almost no mobility - I can walk 20m with a walker, but am in a wheelchair for any longer trips - even the supermarket. I’ve been doing physio with a LC experienced physiotherapist, and do my exercises every day, but am getting worse not better.

Added to that, I have lymphocytic colitis, which causes flare ups of appalling diarrhoea, where I almost don’t make it to the loo in time. Despite doing pelvic floor exercises daily, I am afraid that is going to get worst, and I will end up incontinent. If that happens, I don’t want to live any more.

Mothrasstillmoshing · Today 12:25

I wasn't remotely sorry when my dad died.
He was a self centred person who didn't care about anyone else other than himself. He was obsessed with having 'enough' money and always thought that he never had enough which meant he spent more time working than with his family. Even when I was seriously ill in hospital he wouldn't come and see me (let alone ask or phone for updates on my condition) and said he had to carry on with his work.
He was a child abuse apologist & denier and knowingly let my mother abuse me horribly. He ignored my injuries because he wanted a quiet life and actually only ended his marriage to mother because she stole all his money despite having had multiple affairs. Yet, he still tried to bully me into allowing my mother access to my children. He even took them behind my back until I firmly put a stop to it but I was deemed to be very, very unreasonable and he said he would support a court application if mother made one.

I felt nothing but relief & safe when he was gone. Hilariously, his 2nd wife has also taken all his money and spent almost every penny of his estate and changed her will leaving anything left to her own children as they are apparently more deserving than we are. My sibling actually offered to buy my dad's house when she downsized but she refused out of pure spite losing 75k on the sale due to prices falling.

So you are proud of a colonial or ethnocentric ideology that led to the displacement, dispossession, and denial of rights for the indigenous population of Palestine.

This probably relates to my thing I won't say out loud. The Israel/Palestine conflict is enormously complex with a huge amount of geopolitical and cultural history.
And yet, suddenly we have people who have got an incredibly narrow, one-sided and recently learned view of it, eager to put bad faith interpretations on anyone who disagrees with them. They behave as if Israel is a cartoon villain.
I've had a little personal project going recently where I fact check claims made on either side on social media.
A huge number claims are either outright false or deeply misleading. This is an information war as much as it is a physical one.
Edited to add: there are misleading claims both sides and often fuelled by bot/troll farms.
I think this is a massive problem. That I'll say out loud. I'm happy to respectfully discuss any kind of political problem. I think that's how we find peace and the way forward.
The bit I won't say out loud is that I think most of the activists shouting the loudest are bloody idiots. Most of them are pushing deeply partisan agendas and often outright conspiracy theories. I think they're deeply and emotionally entrenched in fighting and arguing.
It's divisive and harmful to both sides.

SadSadTimes · Today 12:31

Two of my children say they won't have children themselves. I wouldn't admit it out loud but this makes me exceedingly unhappy, for them.

Out loud I say "this is your decision to make, you must do what feels best for you". And that is true.

Why do you regret getting married?

I say this as a single woman who feels judged for not being married. I feel everyone else has it figured out.

I regret getting married because I've been in an abusive marriage for 30 years and have wanted to leave for a reeallly long time but have never been able to find a way to. Yet.
The problem with marriage is that as well as it entailing a lovely wedding day wearing a pretty dress where everyone celebrates you, it also entails entering a legal contract which nobody explains to you. What's yours is theirs etc like gambling debts and STDs from their adultery. For better or worse, possibly much worse.
When you do things that people expect you to do together, such as taking out a mahoosive joint mortgage, nobody points out that if your partner suddenly stops paying their half of the mortgage (simply because they are a selfish wanker for example) the bank will expect you to pay their half too and if you can't afford it, you could end up homeless despite having a decent job and always supporting yourself independently prior to meeting your prince. This isn't exclusive to marriage of course, it can happen to cohabiters too.
If I ever get out of this marriage, I will never marry or cohabit again. Fuck that. Enjoy your independence.

I practise Michael Jackson dance routines in my kitchen when I'm alone. I really want to suggest we do a Thriller flashmob at work. I'm in my 60s 😄

I pretend to be Mick Jagger in his prime, pouting, pointing and posturing, I am sure I look ridiculous but it lifts my spirits and amuses me.

I've thought of another one. It really irritates me when shops ask you to buy items for them to donate to charity. I'm not at all against donating to charity, but this way they get to take a profit from the sale and then claim that they've donated it. They haven't! If shops really cared then they'd just donate the items themselves.

My mother is a good person who did her best, but she is very damaged and passed on a lot of trauma to me. She still has no comprehension of what she did to me. It has been and still is extremely difficult being her daughter and I sometimes wonder if it'll be easier when she's gone.

As a large labiad Lesbian (not a sentence I’ve put together before lol ) this is actually so nice to hear, I really struggle with insecurity about mine , so please don’t feel ashamed about expressing that you like it !!

I also have large (and very uneven) labia, and I am also deeply insecure about it. It took me six months to pluck up the courage to go for my latest smear because I’m so self-conscious. I feel I can’t wear tight trousers because I’m sure there is a visible (and again uneven) bulge, and I’m convinced everybody will notice. I’m glad to hear I’m not alone. If it’s as commonplace as the internet promises it is, I wish more people would talk about it. (But I also understand why they don’t. 😂)

Well, the more logical point is that they use the commuting time to do those chores?

The larger point is why it's women who feel obliged to do this and not men.
