There's no suitable food.

I'm worried about going away. I'm staying at a budget hotel. They don't serve food. I was thinking we can just eat out. But i didn't think it through and its to late now.

I can only eat grilled chicken, plain cod. Plain prawns and tuna steak.. protein yoghurts. Boild eggs strawberries doubt i will find them things. Even if i can they will likely be cooked on oils things and end up full of fat.

OP- WE are worried about you. I am worried about you.

You are making what should be a trip away with your DD all about how and what to eat. It should be about enjoying the sights and sounds of your destination or having fun with your DC.

🙄

But then then the fat from the skin has soaked into the chicken whilst being cooked,?

Are you ok OP?

Is this a fear/disorder of yours? Or do you have a medical condition/allergy?

I only ask because your posts sound quite concerning.

I think all the skin does is stop the meat from drying out so much. I don't think much, if any of the fat goes into it
Im glad you've found somewhere to buy some suitable food from. I hope you manage to have a nice time away

That's not factual. Can you say why you're worried about this? Is it texture, medical, are you worried about putting on weight, or does eating anything else just give you general ick/sickness?

Bepo77 · Yesterday 22:34

This thread is very worrying.

There's nothing to worry about. It has been sorted before Holiday. So that means we can enjoy the time away and not worry.

If you have a DD you need to get on top of your eating issues OP. Whether it’s AFRID, orthorexia, whatever. The fear of oil sounds like an ED - fear of food perceived as “fattening.

Or another thought would be to learn how to use Google Maps properly.

Who has prescribed you a zero-fat diet?

How old is your DD? Is she a foodie?

if not, and you are staying in the UK, I’m sure you will find some restaurants that will cater to your requirements

SnowyPetals · Yesterday 22:44

This is a concerning thread, I have to agree with PP.

It's not high in fat, but what would be the problem if it was? If you have an otherwise balanced diet it's fine to indulge sometimes. Having these things in moderation will not harm you.

How old is your daughter?

Google maps is a shit and can decide to go weird at any time. Or not show the route especially on a hot day.

fishonabicycle · Yesterday 22:58

This is a very specific set of foods! Are you very much into exercise/training? The fear of fat is a little extreme 😉

I'm not under weight. My weight is average. DD eats well.

Disordered eating is not only about weight OP but I think you know that.

Im not sure what your real goal is in starting this thread, I suspect its about attention for your disordered eating.

Have you sought help for this? As a PP has noted you should seek help for your DD's sake if not your own.

AnneLovesGilbert · Yesterday 23:01

Starting to wonder if it’s an advert for co-op. But either way, have a nice trip.

I'm not really sure how to take this post. I can't work out if it's a dig at me or not. Or if genuine. I don't mean that in a bad way. It could 100% be I'm reading it wrong.

@Fatpiggie

glad you e found a shop nearby that you can get what you need

due to health issues with one of my dc before we went away this year abroad we did an order of dried packaged foods he can eat so we could store them in the hotel
rokm and he could take some out with him for snacks.

could that be an option?

anyway have a fab holiday wherever your going. 😊

MyDogClive · Yesterday 23:22

i hope you enjoy your holiday OP, but you must know that protein without any fruit or vegetables isn’t providing you and your body with the best nutrition. High protein yoghurts are often full of UPF too. Do you think you could speak to someone about your restricted eating? Maybe book an appointment after your holiday. It’s important to look after your health.

I think because you’ve not clarified that you require a special diet for a medical condition or allergy.

Because if so, people wouldn’t be concerned.

But given your username, the cruel child nickname and fear of “fat” your thread is implying that you have a major eating disorder which is really concerning and sad to read.

You are being really passive which to me suggests you have a fear of processed and fatty foods due to an eating disorder because of childhood teasing due to your weight.

I’m sorry if I’ve got the wrong end of the stick and please do correct me if I’m barking up the wrong tree.

Exactly this. The OP has carefully avoiding answering the many questions on this thread asking if this extremely restricted diet has been recommended to her for medical reasons, or if they are struggling with disordered eating. The avoidance if the question suggests its the latter.

OP it matters because it absolutely affects the replies. Im not going to post on here facilitating a person struggling with disordered eating by suggesting ways to help them stick to a very restricted way of eating while on holiday. Nope no way.

I truly hope you are able to access support if you are struggling with disordered eating.

I get it. I'm sorry.

I didn't really think from that point of view. I was just trying to find something rather than nothing and I thought that was a good thing.. now I know i can easily get wha I need. I can look forward to the holiday.
