I'm worried about going away. I'm staying at a budget hotel. They don't serve food. I was thinking we can just eat out. But i didn't think it through and its to late now.

I can only eat grilled chicken, plain cod. Plain prawns and tuna steak.. protein yoghurts. Boild eggs strawberries doubt i will find them things. Even if i can they will likely be cooked on oils things and end up full of fat.

but no answer as to why you can't eat stuff.......

Which is ok.
This was obviously a "I am panicking a need to sort out my thoughts" kind of thread. It served it's purpose, OP is ok now and probably doesn't need a witch trial over her eating habits/needs/preferences/...

This doesn't make any sense. Why didn't you book self-catering if your diet is that restrictive?

It sounds like OP has booked self catering

notacooldad · Yesterday 22:03

you need to stand firm with whoever you are going on holiday with and say you don't want to be doing eating out.
I would be livid if I found out I wasn't eating out after I booked the holiday.

She booked a hotel, it says so right in the first line.

It isn't really anyone's business is it?

having shared halls with a girl who had extreme food issues due to her dms restrictive diet, some posters have concerns about the dd. My flat mate did the black coffee grapefruit for bfast, chicken breast (boiled) and salad for lunch, same
again for dinner… it was C sad and stressful watching her angst around food

If you have a DD you need to get on top of your eating issues OP. Whether it’s AFRID, orthorexia, whatever. The fear of oil sounds like an ED - fear of food perceived as “fattening.

So bloody ignorant, I'm sure if op could just get over it she would.
My nephew has arfid due to brain damage from hydrocephalus, will you go up to him and tell him to get over it too?

I struggle with foods cooked in oil and if I’m on holiday I do get panicked incase it makes me unwell. Not an ED it just doesn’t agree with my stomach. Maybe OP is the same

It’s her dd, op says she will go out with her dd but not eat

Doesnt help for the other foods, but could you get an egg boiler? We’ve got a great one from Amazon, cost about £25 and all you’d need to be able to do is access a small amount of water and a plug! Ours is very well used

I gdd think I'd read updates but clearly skimmed. Even so, its not a great holiday to not go out to or to eat and somebody sits there with nothing.

'Concerns' about the daughter

You have no idea about the OP, her needs, her reasoning, her relationship with her daughter, how old her daughter is or anything.

This is completely irrelevant.

You're not 'concerned' you just want a chance to bash someone who you think has a problem.

Well she had a problem knowing where she can get her foods from. Now its solved so she doesnt have a problem anymore.

It does. How does that make it self catering? Its a hotel

Because like it says.. it doesn’t have food, so guests have to go and get their own food so they are self catering

Self Catering means a kitchen is supplied.
It's a hotel - not a self catering unit.

Its basically a place to sleep. Ita just rooms nothing else.

Can you eat salads (which are often topped with plain tuna or plain chicken or boiled eggs) and ask for no seasoning or garnish or whatver for the salad?

No I can't stand the texture. I would rather have the protein

By the way, I don’t think it matters if chicken is grilled with the skin on - it’s very easy to peel off and leave, the non greasy skinless chicken is there waiting underneath. I do it routinely when eating out as I’m not fond of the skin, I buy skinless for cooking at home.
Hope you have a good break!

Yes, and never again!

But then then the fat from the skin has soaked into the chicken whilst being cooked,?

No thats not what self catering means!!! lol

Cheap hotels dont have food served, they dont even do breakfast. A mug and a teabag and the smallest kettle in the world is what you get in these budget hotels.

OP- WE are worried about you. I am worried about you.

You are making what should be a trip away with your DD all about how and what to eat. It should be about enjoying the sights and sounds of your destination or having fun with your DC.
