My DS is desperate for the new swatch watch that David Cason has launched but you can only buy them in person in New York, I was all happy on the website going to buy it for a super early Christmas gift and then saw you can only buy them in person in NY.

bugger.

Otherwise I’m cashing in my airmiles and taking a trip in a few weeks.

Sorry you’ve had unhelpful replies that didn’t even read the op properly. Hopefully someone will be along soon who can help, but if not, a trip to NY is never boring!

Boreded · 30/07/2026 01:49

Resale sites at a markup might be the cheaper option than flying. Are there similar ones that have had limited release that you can price check for reference?

Sadly in this life we can't always get what we want, a good lesson for your son to learn.

Sinkysocks · 30/07/2026 02:13

I might be able to get it. I’m schedule to be in New York City for a business trip the first week of August. Which one does he want? I could bring it back to the uk with me and post it to you.

This is such a weird response to someone wanting to buy a gift.

Ponderingwindow · 30/07/2026 02:25

I can’t offer, I’m just wondering if this is expected to be like the last drop where lines were so massive they had to just give up and close the stores.

You forgot to say ‘please’ 🙄

Be careful everyone. This person may be a scammer or trying to avoid import duties.

I don’t think so it’s a David Carson watch, he’s a designer that is well know in Georgia design circles but he’s not a celebrity. It’s a swatch as well and about 90 quid so not stupid money.

He’s 22 😂 he’s had plenty of lessons in life he’s just a great DS and he was wondering how he’s get hold of this watch as he loves watches so I thought I’d ask. He’s not some brat demanding I fly to NY foe him! He’s working in France ATM so won’t be able to get it himself.

It’s a £90 pound watch and fully intend paying taxes if needed, I’d take the bigger risk by paying before it arrives!

now that would be amazing, it’s a swatch, by David Carson and it’s here, I’d need to go in the laptop to DM I’m not sure if you can use that from a mobile app.

but just let me know if you have time and I will transfer you the cash, it’s £90 so not ridiculous money.

It’s just a one off from an US artist, and not really well known so not sure if any will end up in the UK quite yet.

Companies such as MyUS, Stackry, or Shipito give you a US shipping address. You buy the item yourself, it is delivered there, and they forward it to the UK. This is usually the safest option because you're buying the watch directly.

  • copied from Google results. I don’t want anyone getting scammed!

That’s helpful thanks. But it’s an in person purchase online I can’t buy online to a US address?

I can’t see how this coukd be a scam though as I’d forward the money to someone, so the risk would be with me? Having some random saying “I’m in NY” and they never post a thing!
