I would have thought that - parliamentary investigation to one side - Farage may be struck off, even prosecuted, via Companies House - i.e. his failure to deal promptly/correctly/legally with his company's financial affairs:

https://democracyforsale.substack.com/p/revealed-nigel-farage-is-breaking

Revealed: Nigel Farage is breaking British company law

Farage’s personal company has almost £2m in cash but has not filed key documents

Agree - someone like Tice to be PM and do the donkey work whilst Farage remained the showboating leader of the party - shame that Tice is also deeply involved in the financial 'irregularities'

So someone else??

I think Farage's huge ego has been his achilles heel here. Because he's never been willing to share limelight or allow other input into his party. So he's ended up trapped by the fact that for his supporters he is Reform and there isn't a viable successor.

Thank you - fascinating

There's always more dodgy dealings being exposed - on a daily/weekly basis

You're really getting my hopes up now!

I'm on holiday at the moment - deep in Reform heartland in County Durham. Still a fair number of sad flags on lamp posts around. Having walked down the bloody awful high street in Bishop Auckland you really can understand the frustrations of local residents though.
Not been paying much attention to the news, so delighted to realise this morning that Labour has inched ahead in the polls.😀
Hoping this isn't just a Burnham 'honeymoon' thing.

There's some great stuff going on in Bishy but with the shopping centre having gone bust and the likes of Stack starting work then stalling indefinitely (the old M&S in Durham City has also been left to rot by them) it's so depressing once you go round the corner from the market place.

Exactly my thoughts - going from the market place to the high street is like moving between different worlds.

Somebody needs to explain to Mr Woolley how politics works. If you make shit decisions you’re going to get called out on them.

5128gap · 31/07/2026 09:37

What a lovely man. Really highlights the contrast with Reform, doesn't he?

Do you think people have actually looked at amap to see where the enclave is?

Europe's far right is jumping on it.

OP posts:
TemperanceWest · 31/07/2026 10:45

I doubt they have bothered looking at a map. They are having far too much fun with dire predictions that all the migrants will head straight to the UK to rape and pillage.

placemats · 31/07/2026 10:46

It's the Mediterranean sea which geographically has borders on Southern Europe and Northern Africa.

Efacsen · 31/07/2026 10:47

No I don't think they have - or if they have they don't care

Two threads now saying Ceuta is 'Spain' - not a spanish territory in morocco

Was just looking at the photos - it is extraordinary 49k arrivals in a city of 89k - what will they eat/drink where will they sleep - few reports of people returning to morocco

It surely must have been planned??

placemats · 31/07/2026 10:47

In other news the count for Manchester Mayor began at 9am this morning.

Don't call them stupid.

BestIsWest · 31/07/2026 10:56

Any news on how the Manchester count is looking? There seems to have been no coverage whatsoever.

They don't have to go back to Morocco. Was it a planned mass migration? Probably. Social media in terms of private messages is a powerful tool.

People are choosing to return to Morocco not being sent back - long queues at supermarkets being a factor

Some reports of more leaving than arriving atm not that that will make a huge difference

It's because the Spain's Supreme Court ruled that the law does not allow the immediate return ("pushbacks") of people who cross the border by swimming.

I have seen some suggestions that the US might have had a hand it to punish Spain, allegedly

@DuncinToffee I was just reading a post about the possible US angle. Very interesting.

All I have seen is that the counting has started and Labour feels confident in the Manchester Evening News live blog.

The non existing coverage is weird.
