I unalived myself tidying and cleaning with a 9 week puppy . We had a house viewing and they failed to turn up.

It is horribly sticky @martha79 . I just had a bath but I am done now. Totally knackered.

Oh it was hot overnight! Glad to get up, even though it's silly-o'clock.

@Pasithean our house was on the market for a year and we witnessed a lot of thoughtless behaviour. In the end it was so difficult to maintain the immaculate facade. I stopped buying flowers 😐 It is really difficult having strangers troop through your house. We used to go and sit at a cafe while they were shown round. It must be difficult with a puppy!

BBC says 30° here! But doesn't feel too bad at the moment. It was 25° indoors when I got up at 5, creeping up to 27° now so it is certainly warming up.

Morning all, hope you're surviving the heat if it's warm where you are! I was awake at 4 again.. then up early taking rubbish out and for the last hour have been supervising the men with van. I had only asked them to take the big bits of furniture but they had loads of room so have brought pretty much everything. I feel really guilty not helping...

Back over to the old house later to pack up the last kitchen and bed bits. And then friend is coming this evening to transport me and the cats. Still no bed but the sofa bed is here at least.

Luckily I think today is the hottest day then it’ll get cooler again from tomorrow thank goodness. I’m so sick of the heat now

Im bored of the warmer weather now. Fed up feeling hot or sticky. Thankfully we are in the west country at the moment but DH is still in the West Mids and says it's a bit toasty.

Morning all, it’s hot and sticky here too. Says high is ‘only’ 26 today so luckier than some of you but feels hotter as no breeze. I’d just really like some rain for the garden and cooler weather now too.
DH was watching the commonwealth games in Glasgow yesterday and the rain! I was a bit envious 😬

Managed a dog ‘walk’ or rather a scoot and now having coffee in the shade in the garden. It’s nice and peaceful today, next doors workmen ( re doing paths/ patio) have obviously seen the forecast so leaving it today… Cant say I blame them!

It must be horrible doing manual work in this weather. I felt so sorry for the workers re - laying the gas main, thick hi viz overalls and hard hats. They must have been sweltering.

Absolutely @TeaAndStrumpets I can’t imagine laying a patio in this weather! Must be such extra hard work in this heat.
Our garden wraps all the way around our house, we have a fenced off area at the back for the dog but we usually sit in what is effectively the front garden as it’s not overlooked and usually peaceful. There is a smallish fence around the corner separating next doors front garden where they’re cutting the stones so unfortunately if dippy dog wonders over that side, she can see the workmen and then barks if they pop up by the fence! So I’m enjoying a day of not needing to keep her indoors or out of their way. Though it’s actually too hot to sit out now.

Have had a lovely morning meeting a friend for coffee and catching up. Accidentally drank a mug of caffeinated coffee, so hopefully it was early enough in the morning to get through my system before I try to sleep tonight ☕🤞

My parents are also coming over later too, so it's a v people-ing day. Not planning on doing anything else ... 🥱

Too hot to sit outside but indoors is a v pleasant 25. I think I'm the only person who will miss the heatwave 😆🦎

@martha79 can I ask where you got your sofa bed from please? I'm looking for one and am bamboozled by the different types! Too much choice 🥴

It's this one from IKEA https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/skoenabaeck-2-seat-sofa-bed-knisa-dark-grey-30582544/ - only really big enough for one person, I bought it for daytime lounging mainly (and the storage underneath).

Fab, thanks @martha79 - would you let us know how comfy it is to sleep on please? I am still scarred from sleeping on a 1990s pull out bed with springs in all the wrong places! 😳

I find it comfy but it is pretty firm so not to everyone's taste. It's solid foam so no springs or pointy bits!

That looks a very clever sofa bed

It is, even the removal men were impressed by it (and they managed to get it up the very narrow stairs by just separating it into the two main parts - I was convinced it'd have to come apart completely!

I think I've done almost everything at the old house - just need to bundle the cats up later. Then another car load tomorrow and that'll be everything.

Probably not the first thing you think of in this weather, but I was looking for a warm zip up hoodie ready for when the weather turns. Found a gorgeous one on sale from Heat Holders. Soft velvety fleece, light weight but will be lovely & warm. One of the reviews described it as wearing a hug. Arrived this morning. Absolutely delighted with it.
