I’m with @EvieBB . It is a boring game. The fact this was a better game because there was “no fouls or jeopardy” highlights the tedium of the others.
I can’t believe the extent players fake and overplay contact to get the other team penalised. If it was actually a decent game in itself, there wouldn’t be any need to cheat.

I think it’s an achievement coming third and beating a team who did so well in the group stages. So theres that. But it’s still a boring sport.

It was a cracking game alright in the second half. And a high scoring game, which hardly ever happens at world cup. Loved that Bellingham let Saka take the penalty to get his hat-trick, figuring that he himself (Bellingham) had another goal in him maybe. Which he did! That's proper sportsmanship and team spirit.

I did feel for Deschamps though. His mother died a couple of weeks ago and the first half wasn't great from France, on top of their poor showing against Spain. He looked absolutely overtaken by anguish at the end.

I dont think Argentina counts anymore.

A brilliant and enjoyable bit of football. Well done to England, a well deserved win. I'm Irish and would have loved to see England win the WC. I will be cheering on Spain later, the Argentinian players absolutely sicken me. I can't for the life of me understand how they get away with behaving as they do.

Sensational game and saka was given his time to shine and rashford.
I thought France were going to give up ,Mbappe looked desperate in the first half. I wonder what Pep talk they were given at half time.
Then they fought back and we had a thrilling game.
And what a goodbye from Jude , utterly breathtaking that man.

Wow, what a game. I know a comment was made about France being asleep in the first half, but they were running their legs off - just weren't there for eachtoher! Our goalie was brilliant in first half - there's a couple of shots that could easily have gone in and he on it and got there.

I watched only till half time and as they were 4-0 up, I thought they probably wouldn't be beaten.

Quite a surprise this morning to see the final score and how the game was being praised and one of the best of the tournament.

Well done England and to France, probably the two teams I've liked the best in the World Cup.

Go Spain, hoping you are the final winners and not Argentina.
