Not even my football mad son is watching it! I am though, but it’s turned depressing.

I’m not arguing about whether some people dislike the English.

Honestly I don’t even recognise the stereotype. In my experience, the English are almost the opposite of arrogant. We’re generally terrible at taking compliments, quick to apologise, and far more likely to be self critical than to tell everyone how brilliant we are.

I do wonder how much of this opinion comes from actually knowing English people versus soaking up media narratives or football banter. Most English people are just ordinary people getting on with their lives.

I’m watching but husband went to bed at half time thinking it was all over. It’s a super second half.

DS and I said we would watch until half time and then go to bed. We are both still here and hooked.

Been much more pleasant to watch England without the arrogance of Bellingham, Anderson and Kane.
