How can people say football is boring?

All those who questioned Tuchel and the squad selection… England have just delivered our best World Cup performance since 1966. 🦁
A third-place finish and a statement win over France in a classic. Be proud, Three Lions! 🇬🇧⚽

Tuchel made terrible mistakes in the Argentina game by not letting Saka and Rashford onto the pitch, but the players have been immense this World Cup. Absolute class, heart and pride from all of them. Let's also not forget that they had to play an extra match in the knockout stages at this World Cup. To finish 3rd 🥉 out of 48 teams is an amazing achievement!!!

Well done 👏🏼 I have high hopes for Euro 2028! Football really is coming home this time 😀

Good game of proper football, few fouls, no biased referee and of the teams who qualified, we came third. But actually we did better than that, because we played football. Proper grassroots football.

Suspect Deschamps was rather animated at half time. The French 1st half performance was disgracefully lazy, and really disrespectful to their own coach considering this is his final match after 14 years. 4 subs suggests he wasn't best pleased.

Agree. And imagine scoring 4 goals and not winning the match. England were simply superb!!

The tv schedule for tonight is dire unless you like sport.
ITV is practically sky sports , I wonder if this is the future now sky have taken them over.
I won’t watch the England game , it’s a waste of time really.

I might watch a bit, I feel very sad for them, I wouldn't react to play in this consolation match. I also think we are forgetting they are the 4th best team in the world at this point and that is actually something to be proud of. I just don't know if I can face more heartbreak, if they come out fighting I'm in, if it's painful I'm out. I do also have to be up at 6 to get to the airport.... I won't be watching the final, where we are going is two hours ahead of here so it doesn't start until 10pm and we have an early start and a lot of travel to get through tomorrow, and a 7 year old DS who I won't be keeping up that late to watch a match I'm not invested in. I've watched a lot of this world cup, all England matches and plenty of others, but it feels like time to move on now. Nations League starts in September with our first match being Spain!

Third best team in the world now!

To anyone who is still wondering why people don’t like the English, this thread is a good example. Acting like the 3rd place play off is beneath you when so many countries would be delighted to be there. Do you also think it’s meaningless and pointless for athletes to compete in other competitions when they’ve no chance to win? Like friendlies shouldn’t be played because there’s nothing at stake there either? If I was a footballer, I would be happy to have the chance to end the campaign on a win. Unless you think you can’t, which means it’s just sour grapes.

Anyone who doesn’t like the English has a massive chip on their shoulder
