I was reading Sky and it can be refused apparently. Some Government dpt have to do something to remove him, and it goes to the house for a vote. Usually automatic if ill health or leaving politics. But to quit then stand again instantly can be refused.

The UK system is more nuanced than that. You don't just "resign" as an MP - a rule that stands to prevent MPs being driven out by intimidation. Which would be an affront to democracy.
