Take That concert on Thursday - Will it go ahead?

I've been really looking forward to this but it's giving me such anxiety now. I spent a lot of money so don't want to just not go and forfeit the money. Would they cancel it? It can't be safe to have thousands of people there in such intense heat?

If you have seats then I’d suggest going as late as possible. Belinda Carlisle has been on around 18:15 and the script around 19:30. Take that on at 20:30 by then the temperature should be coming down.

I have seen Take That in torrential rain - I don’t think they are likely to cancel.

WhispersFromFairyland · 22/06/2026 22:01

I doubt it will be cancelled, it costs a fortune to organise these things and a fortune to cancel or postpone. It’s open air though, and in the evening so it’ll be cooler. Just keep hydrated through the day leading up to it.
p.s. Hi 👋🏻 I’m also going 😊

Gabbycat245 · 22/06/2026 22:02

I'm also going! Wondered whether it would be cancelled, but I don't think it will be. Just planning on wearing light clothing, taking a hat, can and water and hoping for the best 😑

Take That come on at 8.30 so I’d just not get there until about 8.00, which should be bearable.

Oystersinmypocket · 22/06/2026 22:11

I’m going to Harry Styles tomorrow and was wondering the same but there’s no way they will cancel, it’s making me feel quite anxious about the night after being excited for so long.

IHopeYouStepOnALegPiece · 22/06/2026 22:17

No chance they’ll cancel. I saw pink at Wembley in 2019 when it was 36 degrees, it cooled down quickly once the support act had finished about 8ish. Bring a fan (check the rules). It’ll be fine

Calliepita001 · 23/06/2026 07:21

What about the trains though? I wonder if they’ll be affected or cancelled due to heat

r0ck · 23/06/2026 07:35

I’m due to go to this too and had planned to drive up earlier (got a just park space nearby) but now wondering if we should miss the supports and leave later. I am secretly hoping they reschedule it but think that’s very unlikely!

Yep me too, torrential

Whatnamecaniusethen · 23/06/2026 20:12

Take that concert should be re scheduled. Do they not care about the welfare of their audience and crew members

MrsM2025 · 23/06/2026 20:29

I’m going on the Friday I hadn’t thought about it being cancelled this week coz of the weather! Although by then it’ll be raining!

Do they not close the doors after a certain time to stop people wandering in and disturbing everyone else who is seated?

FanSpamTastic · 23/06/2026 22:45

I don’t think so - we had people arrive just as Take That were about to come on at Cardiff.

OnTheBoardwalk · 23/06/2026 22:49

On another thread there are people concerned about seeing the cure in cardiff tomorrow with the heat and lack of shelter

i dont think anyone will cancel in the heat due to the costs and the lack of insurance if they do cancel. I think this is wrong

Inwhitelights · 23/06/2026 22:52

Don’t miss The Script if you can help it. They were great! X

boredwfh · 23/06/2026 23:51

I saw P!nk at Wembley in 33 degree heat. It was fine! And we were standing and it cooled down as sunset

LouiseT1976 · 24/06/2026 08:42

Im going friday and also worried esp about the trains.

socks1107 · 24/06/2026 08:46

My failures were at Harry Styles last night. No issues, took fans, took water and had a fabulous time.
Keep alcohol to a minimum and dress in cool clothing. It’ll be absolutely fine. Im going too and not worried in the slightest

I wouldn't have thought that an event outdoors in the evening would need to be cancelled due to hot weather - they have festivals and concerts in Spain etc in the summer and it's this hot at least all the time. If anything, they'll probably say something like allow extra time to travel, take lots of water.

There might be insurance but it won't pay out unless the cancellation is very short notice, usually only a few hours in advance. DP works in events and has had to do work for concerts that they know won't happen, eg due to artist illness, so they have to do a certain amount of the build, so that the insurance will pay costs due to cancellation - he'd get paid for his shift, and then again if they do the same job at a later date.

Presumably an autocorrect but I love the idea that you refer to anyone in your life as your “failures”
😂🤣

I’m going on Friday, who told you it’s supposed to rain? It’s showing 33 and sunny.

The Script provide good value for money - making their way all through the crowd so almost everyone got a close up view.

fernnn · 24/06/2026 12:00

I am feeling very sick from the heat yesterday so I put my tickets back on sale. Two have gone but one is still available. If anyone wants a single seat in section 242 row 63 for £40 DM me. Much less than what I paid obviously.

I am gutted but I think right decision for us. I hope you all have a good time.

No. It's a gig. You can come and go as you please.

BridgetJonesV2 · 24/06/2026 12:05

We saw Coldplay at Wembley a few years ago and it was around 34c by the time they came on stage. I don't know how on earth they got through it, but it was airless in there and so much heat from all the people. And people ended up very drunk and very agitated, it wasn't a nice atmosphere at all. I ended up with heat exhaustion from all the standing around and travelling, felt ill for a couple of days after. I think selling on is very sensible.
