A migrant from Somalia has attempted to behead a man. And some people on MN don't think we should talk about this? Wow.

Some people on Mn, quite correctly, don’t think there’s any benefit whatsoever to watching a video of the attack.

Yes but why - what is the strategy and goal?

More lockdowns so they can fuck people up once again.

Mass control for a one world centralised banking system, digital ID, less rights to your own life.

Clause Schwab former head of World Health Organisation said, you will have nothing and be happy.
Only they're doing it under the guise of global warming and carbon emissions.

Nothings ever good, have you noticed that?
Most news is shit and depressing.
Thats because we are made up of energy/vibrations and there are different hz for different energies and media try and keep us at levels of depression, sadness, anger etc which is why its so important that each of us makes sure we ri6se our vibrations to that of love and abundance and good health

@PilatesAndLattes

99.9% of nasty bastards I have encountered in my life are white men. Where should we deport those guys to?

If there's enough of them, why are you wanting more to be brought/allowed in of the same type, only of a different race..

Genuine actual asylum seekers will most likely have been traumatised and genuine trauma is more likely to lead to serious MH conditions. Living round violence and seeing it as more normal means it could be more likely to play out. Just like children who see domestic violence are affected. They see it as normal which is why the children who witness Dv are more likely to end up in a Dv situation.

This behaviour is shocking what isn’t shocking is being surprised that a small percentage of people, that have escaped war zones will have behaviours that have made them seriously mentally ill.

Radicalised is the word you are looking for not mentally ill.

We have 3 asylum seeker hotels within 5 miles of us. None of these people (men) are tracked or vetted. It’s come to light recently that they are also given access to a local gym, where many women and children attend. We have no clue who they are yet they’re left to roam the streets. Our high streets are suffering from the highest level of crime we have ever seen.

call me a right extremist. Whatever you want. But it’s dangerous. I do not understand why these people are not kept under conditions until it is proved who they are.

this is not an isolated case. I have absolutely no problem with people coming to this country to better themselves. It’s not working.

What is this ‘roam’ - they’re not fucking cattle. The hotels themselves are horrible - and anyway what about integration?

No I don’t live in a naice leafy MN village - I live in a very diverse area and bang opposite one of these hotels - I simply don’t accept this view on those staying there - it doesn’t happen here - or at similar hotels I’ve been to - stop with the vivid imagining drummed up by Musk.

I also live not so far from a cop shop - I don’t assume they’re all going to push me in a car and rape and kill me.

So many people falling over themselves to use this horrific story to talk about how terrible white British right-wing men are, how above them they are, how educated and superior they are, and how anyone who disagrees is thick.

How/why would anyone want to stand by and video something like this?

I believe it was filmed by a woman.

Would you have stepped in to try to stop what seems to be a well-built young man with a knife who was trying to cut the head off his victim in the middle of the street?

We should not want civil unrest. We should be able to be appalled without resorting to that. We should aim to be higher than a mob going out onto the streets throwing chunks of someone’s garden wall into the police.
At least I don’t really believe most people want to respond to a terrible situation by doing that.
We are able to communicate without rioting.

We don't need to be "apalled".
We need things to change and the people running the country are still not reading the room.

Owlbookend · Yesterday 10:24

DrBlackbird · Yesterday 10:17

I don’t care if this is a derail… this is the bigger story and ⬆️ needs repeating.

Like all organisations, the BBC is not perfect and individuals within the organisation desire to advance particular narratives, but it is almost the only media company in the ‘West’ that is not owned by billionaires. It is by law required to remain neutral and is independent of government. This is a constant battle to maintain but there are laws in place to help do so.

We must not allow Musk, an American billionaire, to make us lose confidence in it or bow to efforts to stop its public funding status like Trump has done to highly regarded outlets in the US.

Look what’s happening there. The once highly respected Washington Post bought by Bezos. TikTok being sold to an investor consortium that includes Oracle, the tech company of pro-Trump billionaire Larry Ellison. In fact, CBS, CNN, HBO, Paramount, and Discovery is coming under control of Larry Ellison. CBS and CNN were once independent news sources that were critical of the current administration. On top of how the influential Fox News is owned by Rupert Murdoch and has already swayed elections in that country.

One consequence is that CBS News fired its longtime 60 Minutes anchor Scott Pelley since it came under new leadership. David Ellison (Larry’s son), an ally of US President Donald Trump, bought CBS's parent company, Paramount. A new CBS News chief subsequently fired staff, including its longtime executive producer, and installed a new editor with no broadcast news experience despite that 60 Minutes has been the US's longest-running and highest-rated news programme.

All of the more independent US news organisations are being bought and/or run by Trump supporting billionaires. It is all very worrying. Please appreciate that we are LUCKY to have the BBC. Do not be tempted to throw out the baby with the bath water.

Edited to add: as awful as social media is, from a public perspective it’s the only way we see the truth this claim is not true. Social media is even more prone to distortion and misinformation as it is entirely unregulated. Anyone can post almost anything. From anywhere in the world including bot farms in the Philippines or from Russia or North Korea. This is a well studied phenomenon.

Edited

Thank you for posting this. It is very important people understand how the ultra rich are trying to control the media to they can spin a narrative that advances their interests.

I dont think civil unrest will help but the problem is those in charge just allow these things to happen, if things dont change, people get angry.

What will Keir Starmer do? I bet my house absolutely nothing

What's your plan for stopping "these things" from happening?

Good thing we respond appropriately to mental illness and keep the public safe then.

So many people falling over themselves to use this horrific story to talk about how terrible white British right-wing men are, how above them they are, how educated and superior they are, and how anyone who disagrees is thick.

The first rule of modern left-wing discourse is that a working white professional male who is wealthy must somehow be at fault when a person he’s never met commits a horrible crime.

Bunnyofhope · Yesterday 10:26

Oh God, I've just sought out the video.
There is nothing that excuses this. I don't care that lots of immigrants are excellent people or that some people are mentally ill.
People are right to be angry that this crime was committed and that it could have been prevented. I see TR, Rupert Lowe etc have already condemned it but as far as I can see, no one in government has said anything. Ordinary people are worried about people new to the country committing violent crimes. They are allowed to be worried about it. The lack of information feeds these worries. People suspect a cover up. Actually, if that terrible video didn't exist who would know anything about the attack?

The Brighton rape incident.

One of the men was an Egyptian murderer who was allowed to roam without correct identity checks who went onto brutally rape a woman.

They are unchecked men who can be extremely dangerous. So yes, they should be detained and checked before being released on the public.

As a woman, we have enough dangerous males without the govt unleashing more on us in case it’s seen as a bit mean to do the right checks.

SeriousFaffing · Yesterday 10:27

MightyDandelionEsq · Yesterday 10:18

Silly Argument.

We can’t deport British nationals but we
can control if we keep foreign criminals.

That’s not racism.

@MightyDandelionEsq

It it though? No, it’s actually two tier standards. Effectively, we don’t care about brutality (overwhelmingly committed by white men) until it’s another person of another ethnicity who has committed the crime.

Two tier standards. Two tier ethics. Two tier morals… Do you know what we could also call it?

Time to open YOUR eyes. You do the bidding of people who are laughing at you while raking in the profits. Ask WHY they want you so distracted and working to discredit our media and justice system.

Ha, nice try.
Just stick with the BBC then.

FFS. Pathetic.

You want to come on and cry about "minimising" it but won't even bother to copy and paste information yourself. We don't all feel the need to commit out details to any old fucking billionaire just so I can click on some random link by a total stranger on the internet.

Why do those who film them not give them to the police, instead putting them on social media - for clicks?

The poor family and victim, having this online shared repeatedly, been seen by too many. It would break my heart if it was my family.

I genuinely have no problem with integration. But unless you see it first hand, you cannot agree that it’s integration.

You are lucky to live near a police station, our nearest is now 25 miles away.

I do not blame asylum seekers, I blame the government. There is no integration. No speed to process applications and integrate. And it all gets brushed under the carpet.

I really hope that you continue to experience the wonder that you do. But it’s scary for them and it’s scary for us. No one wins in these situations, it just creates more divide and more unrest.

ChangeyNameyforthis · Yesterday 10:30

Honestly, I’ve had enough of this bullshit.

Young man is stabbed and his head tried to be cut off by immigrant using religion as the reason. Mentally ill or whatever, I just don’t care anymore.

This is the UK. A civilised country. It’s not the 13th Century in some holy war.

I am sick to the back teeth of this. Everyone has to take a stand and say ENOUGH.

When is someone in power going to listen and do something.

Mob justice isn't going to help, either way. Elon Musk is not doing this for our good.

Mob justice is what happens when governments fail to protect their citizens. As, for example, they failed to protect Rhiannon Whyte from a fairly obvious risk that even the dimmest person in the world could have forseen and which absolutely should have been prevented.

It's what desperate people do.

Maybe we shouldn't allow lots of illegal migrants in without detaining them first and checking they're not mentally ill or evil enough to do such things or, in fact, criminals with lengthy records in other countries who've conveniently ditched their papers. Or people who've been denied asylum in other EU countries for good reasons as has been true for some of the recent child rapists. Why is our government prioritizing freedom for these men who we don't know over safety for everyone else?

Also RIP Rhiannon Whyte, as again, if that man had been detained she would still be alive.

It doesn't matter whether or not this man was illegal or not. If this stuff keeps happening it's a good reason to make sure who is coming into our country before giving them freedom to roam and attack others because we really don't need more of this.
