You're doing that thing again, moving goalposts. Am out.

No.
We’re saying that culture and indoctrination can impact people where mental health isn’t an issue.

You're refusing to engage with the conversation, which is your prerogative, but don’t pretend you don’t follow the discourse.

Which is why we do need platforms that allow us to freely share information due to state cover ups.

Even if sometimes the information doesn’t suit our world narrative and can be considered contentious.

There were no threads and no public outrage/debate about Jamal Ringrose.

Why?

Exactly, thanks. It’s not even that hard to follow.

I think you know that isn’t true. Who were the many who were quite happy for the killing of innocent people? It could equally be turned that ‘Brits’ were quite happy for the killing of innocent people in Northern Ireland. And that would be false also.

‘Tedious’ posts about stabbings….
Because we should now just shrug and just accept our children being horrifically attacked.
Utterly despicable to casually condemn other peoples suffering.
This occurred last night / should have led the news everywhere in a civilised society.

Totally agree with you

Flyingintotheunknown · 09/06/2026 12:42

@Happyjoe Hmmm yeah but what about when we used to behead people, chop theives hands off, burn people at the stake etc! Stuff that was pretty much accepted as the norm back in those days! Are you going to say that everyone during that period of time weren’t of sound mind?
It has way much to do with how you’re brought up and what you have seen/ heard/ been radicalised about than just simply mental health issues. Many people have mental health issues but don’t go around beheading people! So yes I believe people can be ‘radicalised’ into thinking it’s the norm.

Noodledog · 09/06/2026 12:42

Happyjoe · 09/06/2026 12:35

If someone came up to me and tried to radicalise me into cutting someone's head off they'd get a swift kick in the bollocks. But am of sound mind.

A lot LOT of these people are mentally ill, loners, easy pickings for people who want to radicalise others and unfortunately the internet is making it worse. There is an undeniable link.

Have a look at the FCO travel advice for Somalia. If you have to be severely mentally ill to be radicalised and extremely violent, then unfortunately a significant portion of the Somali public must be severely mentally ill.

Those ‘loners’ have massacred hundreds of thousands of Christians in Sudan, Somalia, Syria, Nigeria over the last few years.

Front page of BbC news

BBC also reporting some other appalling events, including a stabbing at a school, care home abuse in Halifax.

But not getting the same attention

Hmmm

MLMsuperfan · 09/06/2026 12:45

So the BBC puts up a report of the incident on the front page, describes it as 'sickening', 'brutal' and 'horrific', and states the attacker is Somali.

This is a cover up yeah?

It depends on your algorithm. I just searched and found a lot of posts.

Unfortunately general stabbings due to gang violence (especially in London) and especially black on black crime have become normalised as they happen so often (not saying it’s right but we’ve become desensitised). I’d be angry at Sadiq Khan who has purposely deterred the police from doing anything (like stop and search) to address this and letting it flourish. I’d also blame previous govts for soft prison sentences.

The last time I saw a beheading and such a brazen one like I saw today, was Lee Rigby. It’s rare and shocking.

OceanSafari · 09/06/2026 12:47

They've not minimised anything. If you want sensationalist, fear-mongering headlines, read a tabloid or social media. Most of us (hopefully) prefer to form our own responses based on facts without being manipulated by language.

I support immigration where the identity, criminal background and skills of the applicants has been vetted.
I support asylum/ refugee status for women and children.

Violent men, from whom those women and children are fleeing, we can do without.

Every week there're at least two kidnappings by Islamists in Nigeria. Not once has Starmer ever condemned it but when there was a protest at a mosque in the US he stood up to attack the perpetrators. Labours' only power is Islam. That is their future. So even though he's a lawyer he will not speak out against evil or support good if it doesn't further his islamic agenda.

@PilatesAndLattes

99.9% of nasty bastards I have encountered in my life are white men. Where should we deport those guys to?

If you were in China, I’d wager 99.9% of the nasty bastards you would have encountered in your life would have been ethnically Chinese.

If you were in Afghanistanistan … .

There might be a reason for that.

HalzTangz · 09/06/2026 12:50

Dollymylove · 09/06/2026 09:38

It might have been picked up by CCTV or ring doorbell

More likely someone standing watching and filming instead of helping. The video should not have been shared, the sharer has not considered the victim, his family or friends who will be visually reminded of the attack. People sharing videos like this are as bad as the attacker in my eyes. There is no need for such a video to be made public, it should have been provided to the police only, then deleted in front of the police including the deleted folder

CagedBirdInACage · 09/06/2026 12:50

GoldThumb · 09/06/2026 12:02

Exactly!

How people look at crimes like this, and it’s the people who are angry about it that’s the problem?!?

Priorities all over the place

I suppose my issue is that it's only certain 'crimes like this' that seem to enrage people and have them talking about riots. Where was that same energy for this attempted beheading? Why weren't people angry then?

You do realise NI is part of the uk the Protestant population & I am sure some catholic people did not support the IRA. That is a pretty crass comment after a town just gone through such a horrific attack.

I’ve had enough of being told our magic soil can easily change certain cultures and behaviours. Especially the attitudes towards women.

I’ve had enough of being fearful of men generally which is also supported by the govt who keep telling me I’m in danger, but then not being allowed to fear men from countries that are over represented in the crime stats. From countries that openly and gleefully subjugate, rape and control women.

So yes, I agree with you. I’ve had enough.

There're no jobs. We don't need more immigration. I immigrated here legally from Africa over 20yrs ago. We must speak truthfully without bias. It needs to stop now.

EstoyRobandoSuCasa · 09/06/2026 09:39

Have you ever thought that the BBC aren’t sharing all the gory details of the victim’s injuries out of respect for the victim’s family?

I know that the people who share videos of horrific attacks (and accidents) give zero thought to the families involved, but they ought to. Instead, they exploit other people’s tragedies for attention.

Absolutely correct & also for people who do not want to witness such horror, I for one don’t want to see it.

Labour are idiots for thinking they have any power in Islam. As soon as there is a likely majority the Muslim vote switches to Muslim independents or their entryist attempt at the Green Party.
