Do you feel sorry for Katie Price?

I know that she’s done some terrible things, but I can’t help but feel bad for Katie Price. Yes, I feel bad for her kids, pets, and family first and foremost, but sympathy is not a finite resource as I feel sad for her too.

In the noughties, she had the world at her feet. She made a success of herself out of no skills or qualifications. For a time, the public seemed to like her.

Seeing how far she’s fallen is tragic. With the right man or better friends, things could have turned out quite different I think?

She has been very open about her mental health struggles eg:severe ptsd,adhd,anxiety and depression even being admitted to the priory hospital and being treated as an outpatient,
Her patterns of behaviour demonstrate those issues really clearly.
She looks emaciated and physically unwell too.
Her family must be very worried about her.

I do feel sorry for her as she is clearly mentally and physically unwell and making unwise choices in life.

I think all the things you mention shows she is probably unhappy chasing after some kind of fulfilment or validation she can never quite reach and never learning from her mistakes. I think that very clearly demonstrates her unhappiness at her core.

I don’t feel sorry for her, although I think she’s had a lot of trauma and abuse. But I’m not sure that manifests as pity for her tbh.

i do think she’ll be studied in future as a cultural phenomenon because there is something going on. I agree it’s not an obvious (or “serious”) mental illness but the surgery, the attention seeking, the awful choice of men- there is something behind it, and something behind why the public are interested in it- and have been for 30 years.

Absolutely not! I feel very sorry for her neglected children though and all the pets she's killed.

If a random chavvy woman moved in next door to you, the house was an absolute shithole, she kept having kids to endless men and the kids were neglected and eventually removed by SS.
Had lots of pets that ended up dying through her neglect.
Clocked up six driving convictions because she kept drinking and driving, crashed a car while off her head on coke and still carried on driving while banned, would you honestly, hand on heart feel sorry for her or would you think your neighbour was a monster?

She's a double edged sword isnt she. I used to think she was just desperate to be loved and I could empathise with that with my own life. But I havent really followed her for a good couple of years, saw her on loose woman, odd tabloid reel on her husband's. Now this farce online, until now I didnt realise Bunny and Jet were in foster care, assumed they were with dad or 50/50 care etc.

Do I think shes part of the orchestra? Weirdly no..... but in her younger years she was so savvy with her work and businesses. I honestly dont think shed be stupid enough to part of this facade knowing she will be public enemy no1, I mean I dont even think Katie Hopkins would stoop that low.

Agree. Also agree with those saying she needs mental health help, but she's choosing to continue lurching from shitshow to shitshow instead of getting herself sorted out. Hard to sympathise with that, besides which she gives the impression (to me anyway) of fundamentally not being a nice or decent person.

I do feel sorry for her; but I have more sympathy for her children and animals who had no choice in all of this.
I read one of her books and her self esteem and need for a man to validate her is very sad

A lot of her shit is of her own making.

Wow there's some absolutely horrible comments here. I'm not a fan of hers at all but I do think she appears to be a very damaged person. It's sad. I reckon if she was posher, people would be more sympathetic.

Yes and no.
I sympathise with how she was lured by riches and fame by getting her kit off. That was a sort of grooming because back then you could be 16 and posing sexily in a bikini.
I sympathise with how even though she was gorgeous, predatory agents and scouts still made her feel not good enough so she turned to more and more extreme cosmetic surgeries.
I sympathise with how many of her friends sponged off her and took advantage of her.

But I have zero sympathy for how she raised her kids- Princess has been shoved down the same career path to hell.

I feel nothing for Katie Price. I just wish she’d go away. She’s a common, vulgar, talentless, ignorant nothing. She’s also so f-ing boring I can hardly focus on her voice for more than a few seconds. Unfortunately, she has excellent PR, and they manage to keep her in the public eye.

I want young girls to have other role models. I want them to read Virginia Woolf and Iris Murdoch and Sylvia Plath. I want them to speak like Joanna Lumley. I want them to be gutsy and independent like Kathy Burke, or cool and interesting like Tracey Emin. Iris Murdoch could read Greek, Latin, French and Russian. She wrote 26 novels, and she taught philosophy at Oxford. Now that is a role model.
