Loved him. RIP x

Pedallleur · Today 18:44

How can he die and Trump, Putin etc remain on this earth? If he was only remembered for Buffy or advertising coffee he's done more than those 2 loons.

MagpieCastle · Today 18:44

Such sad news. He was always the most watchable person in anything he appeared it, projecting warmth, humanity and wry humour. We’ve lost one of the good ones. 💐

NCISfan · Today 18:45

I had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of times through my work. Genuinely a very nice man. I’m so sad to hear the news of his death.

FlatErica · Today 18:46

No!!! That sucks.

EstherGreenwood63 · Today 18:48

Really really sad. Forlorn I will never meet him on a train now as so many mnetters seemed to! RIP Anthony Head. 🩵

EnidVance · Today 18:49

Noooo! Giles!

Also he was the best baddie in Ted Lasso. So sad.

AsparagusSeason · Today 18:57

This thread has made me realise the only things I’ve ever seen him in are Motherland and the coffee ads, but I loved him in both. And over the years there have been so many threads on MN talking about what a lovely man he was.

I was sad to hear this. Widely known as one of the nicest men in show business.

Can vouch for this. Met him at a Buffy Con when I was about 15. He was so lovely. Gutted. 😥

I was going to post something along those same lines. RIP Ripper my good man

Omg yes I suddenly developed a huge crush on him but only as Ripper. He was a brilliant actor, truly.

babymidgetgem · Today 19:03

I am genuinely really sad at this news, Giles was my favourite character in Buffy, and when I worked in Homebase in Bath as a student, he often came in, and was just such a lovely guy. I really feel for his daughters, losing both parents so close together.

Pedallleur · Today 19:05

He was a baddie Alien in Dr. Who playing a Headmaster. Opposite Tennant and K9 (robot dog)

SurferRona · Today 19:05

So sad to hear this. If anyone can watch it, he was a revelation in a series called Free Agents. Hilariously rogueish and delivered one liners like no one else. I also had a huge crush on him for many many years. I once saw him in the south, holiday time where he had taken his aged but impossibly glamorous mother for a classic ( but upmarket!) pub Sunday lunch. What a couple, star quality both of them, and he was so caring and solicitous of her. A shame, a loss. RIP.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · Today 19:08

Best captain in the skies.

Thebookofcarolagain · Today 19:08

Multi talented and a genuine nice guy.
Played everything with real passion and conviction from librarian to Frankenfurter.
Loved him since the Gold Blend ads
R.I.P Anthony.

@RapunzelHadExtensionswhich con? I wonder if I was there too?

I am gutted, cried when I heard the news. I really loved him, he was so fantastic as Giles. I met him something like 6-8 times when I was younger at various conventions and outside the back door at a theatre when Alyson Hannigan was starring in “When Harry Met Sally”. He was a wonderful and kind human being. I remember when I first met him, I was so overwhelmed I just garbled about how I had his album “Music for Elevators”. He seemed bemused and said that was very niche and asked how I had found it!

Watching Buffy now in his memory. RIP Tony/Giles

Lifeomars · Today 19:14

Very sad news, such a versatile and talented man and it seems that he was universally liked

jaketeckel · Today 19:15

So sad x

viques · Today 19:16

Will have a cup of coffee in his memory.

InNewYorkNoShoes · Today 19:19

I loved him in Motherland and the Inbetweeners.
I am sending hugs to his family 💐

MurunBuchstansangursCousinRossiter · Today 19:20

Oh no 😟

He always came up in the nicest celeb threads.

I knew him primarily as Sarah Fisher’s partner - she died not long ago and was well known in the dog world.

Their poor girls 😟😟😟

S0j0urn4r · Today 19:20

Was lucky enough to meet him several times. Just the loveliest man. Heartbroken for his girls, with his lovely partner, Sarah, having passed so suddenly 6 months ago. 🙏

HoldMyWine · Today 19:23

I shall have a cup of coffee in his honour

I will have to dig out his albums.

RanchRat · Today 19:30

Loved Giles in Buffy. Here he is wigging out the scoobies singing in Season Four:
