So sad. RIP Giles.

Oh this is sad news I loved the coffee adverts and him being Will’s dad

Greatly loved in our house as Mr Gently Benevolent.

He was great in CP but I'll always think of him as Mr. Gently Benevolent from Bleak Expectations. A radio comedy legend!

Repo is what comes to mind for me when I think of him, but he was so iconic in so many roles.

Anytime I saw his name I'd think 'that's the guy who always comes out top on 'nicest celeb' threads on MN'.

Very tough on his daughters losing both parents in such a short space of time and at relatively young ages.

How sad. Where does the time go?

Had no idea his brother was Murray Head - One Night in Bangkok.

Ah another buffy cast member gone. How sad.

He was one of those actors with universal appeal, could do comedy as brilliantly as drama. Both my adult DC had the same reaction as me, OH NO!!

His performance as Giles in Buffy got me through my teenage years as I didn’t have a dad like that. I also love Ted Lasso so this one hurts.

Awwww, no! I loved him in Buffy! He's definitely an attractive man. Also loved him in the Gold Blend ad with the gorgeous Sharon Maughan.

He was older than I thought but still a bit too young to die. R.I.P. ❤

I'm genuinely sad to hear he's died. I didn't like Buffy as a series all that much, but I did like Giles.

I don't normally get sad when someone passes (except Bowie and Rickman) but this one got to me. Lovely bloke by all accounts. Always looked like he was having fun in life.
