What is your go-to order from the chippy?

What is your go to from the chippy? We are having one for dinner tonight and I fancy just chips with curry sauce to dip, usually I get a single black pudding with lots of salt on it and a chip butty with salt, vinegar and broon sauce.

What do you like?

Battered sausage and chips for me, the rest of them would have haddock and chips. DH and DD would have mushy peas. DS would have curry sauce.

Fish chips and curry sauce
or sliced steak with chips peas onion and gravy.

My absolute favourite is a pineapple fritter supper (supper = with chips). Got to be from a really good chippy where the batter is crispy, with salt and vinegar on the chips, and just a but of salt on the fritter.

Failing that, fish and chips with salt and sauce (east coast sauce up here is the best).

Either a gluten free battered sausage and chips or gluten free fish and chips. Or should I say gluten free batter and chips cos Moggy has most of the fish from it 😼

Not keen on the chippies up here so my fantasy order would be fish cake (with parsley , coated in breadcrumbs, as someone else mentioned- ‘Sheffield’ fish cake), battered mushrooms and small portion of chips. Has to be from a specific chippy in my hometown

Oh and a curry sauce please 😋

I never really get a chippy as I don't eat meat or fish but if I did It would be a small bag of chips, two pickled onions with salt and sauce.

Chips and mushy peas, salt and vinegar. Maybe some ketchup if we have some in (we don’t often buy it). Bread and real salty butter for butties 😋

I haven’t had a chippy for over 10 years. As a kid we would always stop in Dunbar once nearly home from visiting southern relatives. It used to have the “chip shop of the year” award for several years running. We would have been driving all day and in the summer we would get to Dunbar in the evening, splash in the sea and have chips and ice cream!

My order:
Chip butty with salt and sauce
An ice cream sandwich with a wafer on top and chocolate mallow on the bottom.

Scampi, chips, curry sauce and mushy peas.

Pea fritter and chips. Sometimes add a curry sauce.
Our chippy is closed on a Monday 😭

I’m slightly jealous of those of you who’ve got such delicacies as pineapple fritter and so on, where I am in SE London the most exotic you’ll get is a Jamaican patty though I’ve noticed at my local they do do potato fritters and on looking at the online menu they do do mars/snicker bar in batter! That’s next on my list to try.

I've just had fish chips and peas. I'm on a bloody diet so it was half a small fish and half a small chips but still, very delicious.

Sounds a great end to the day....im not even going to mention what the ice cream wafers used to be called 😬

I really want to try this pea fritter now. My favourite chippy is shut on a monday and Tuesday here.

Small cod and chips, curry sauce. Shared with husband (our chippy does enormous portions!)

For DD and me it's fish and chips (usually cod but sometimes haddock) and scampi and chips and a large gravy.

When we were in Lewis last year we had the best scampi which was actually monkfish scampi and the chips were so good we had to open them in the car on the way home.

The chippy was in the back garden of a house and was so good.
