Random photo posted by Trump on Truth Social with no explanatory comment by him. I can't read the comments but below by others without having an account but what IS this?
"Look how well I can balance o log pole on my head"?

My first thought was the Omen film. Where the photo is developed and there is a spear shaped shadow on the priest.

But nah.

Looks like a chopper blade behind him. Marine 1 perhaps ?

Shame it wasn't rotating 12 inches lower

DuncinToffee · 23/05/2026 16:10

A windmill blade would be better

Ah right - cheers - that’s interesting - I knew he was a shocking businessman, but hadn’t realised this was his MO.

I knew enough to wonder why he is lauded as a great businessman, and why people still voted on this basis - I hadn’t really realised how terribly his MO in that area could be replicated in politics and war.

He is so completely oblivious to how bad he really is at any role too though - boggling!

@MsJinks

I think it's a combo of self-promotion and a good PR team. And the fact that he has always been canny enough to walk away and keep his money, even if it is through bankruptcy. The fact that he walked away leaving others holding the bag doesn't diminish his 'reputation'.

Unfortunately, here in the US 'money talks, the rest walks'. Our 'class system' (such as it is) is based not on heredity/aristocracy/nobility but pretty much on how much money one has, even if that money is 'nouveau', ill-gotten, or mostly on paper. If you're rich, you must be doing something right ergo you must be 'better/smarter' than those of us who life a less 'golden' life.

That is so interesting. Are we better with our antiquated 'class' system? I really don't know. Those getting gongs and seats in the House of Lords because who their father was (although that is stopping thank goodness), Ministers currying favour in the hope they get appointed to the House of Lords, (see Michelle Mone, say no more), the 'aristocracy' who hold inherited estates and vast wealth and skew politics. Over here it's all about 'class' which really translates to wealth, dunno....

AcrossthePond55 · 23/05/2026 18:29

@BustingBaoBun

It's a hard one. On one hand it seems that ours allows for more 'upward mobility' in that if you manage to make the bucks you're in. But it seems to me that even if you make the bucks in UK you're still excluded from the 'top echelon' or at least eyed askance.

But I think the UK system to an extent at least means that the people in the upper class generally know how to 'behave' appropriately and also possibly do more 'charitable works' even if it's due to an expectation of noblesse oblige rather than true humanitarianism.

Of course my knowledge is based on reading about U vs non-U, British TV, and MN.

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 23/05/2026 18:58

And of course, in the British system, we have the totally classless, although totally entitled, Prince Andrew and his ex-wife.

We forget that our "antiquated 'class' system" started in exactly the same way.

Knights got knighted because they went off, killed loads of people, renditioned people, stole resources etc. And so on with all the titles.

All courtiers got jobs for the boys, and for the sons.

Marriages were brokered by ambitious men who used their daughters and sons.

All of our aristocratic, aristocratic adjacent and royal families come from stock that was willing and able to kill and steal for advantage.

Fine manners and decent clothes hide that.

So we have a deal on Iran.
A regional official with direct knowledge of the Pakistan-led mediation efforts told the Associated Press earlier on Saturday that the potential deal would include an official declaration of the war’s end, with two-month negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program, the opening of the crucial shipping lane by Iran and an end to the US blockade of Iranian ports.

The Cuban invasion is obviously soon as it looks like Trump will be giving in to Iran's terms of peace first, discussion on nuclear dust second, in order to end the war.

This article explores the two pronged constraints against Trump just bombing Iran into submission, with credible reasons as to why Trump has to sign a peace deal.

The Walls Closing In: How Gulf Allies and Congress Are Constraining Trump's War Options

Gulf allies blocked a U.S. strike on Iran while the Senate advanced a war powers resolution — two simultaneous constraints that are reshaping Trump's military calculus.

Reports of shots fired near the WH. Maybe this is why he avoided the wedding - yet another terribly convenient assassination attempt??

In the area of Pennsylvania NW & 17th Street NW. If that's accurate that's a block west of the WH near where Pennsylvania is blocked from vehicular traffic.

But I'm watching my Dodgers play the Brewers so I'm not changing the channel.

2 wounded, including possible suspect, after shots fired near White House, sources say

Two people were wounded, including a possible suspect, in a shooting near the White House on Saturday evening, law enforcement sources told CBS News.

Yup. It's a shooting... in the USA.

Just someone exercising their 2nd.

Yup, another Hollywood myth blown.

First it was the image of a smart POTUS surrounded by smart people, dealing with some sort of world emergency such as aliens.

Now it is that assassins are suave and sophisticated, drive fast cars, and get guns especially made by a master maker in Switzerland. Taking months to plan every job down to the last detail.

What will be the next myth blown ?

Another supposed assassination attempt even though it's a distance from the White House and Trump goes off on his Ballroom rhetoric. How convenient!

Considering how vehemently Trump denied hiding in WH bunker during George Floyd protests, he seems very keen to have a bigger bunker

Spandauer · 24/05/2026 09:45

So just the usual deluded confusion from Trump.

He gaily posts what HE wants the situation to be - thereby making it so in his tiny orange mind, whilst the rest of the parties involved are scrambling around, wincing with vague mutterings about hopeful 'progress'.

OP posts:

'We' did! 11 - 3, a real blowout. Still early in the season but we're leading in our division. Fingers crossed for today's game.⚾️🧢

I think times like these are when it's really great to have a team to support. Not simply for love of the game, but because it gets your head into a happier place.

As far as yesterday's 'incident' it seems as if the shooter had MH issues rather than being an actual assassin. God rest him.
