Daily Project Round 10

[Mumtobabyhavoc]

We are a kind and welcoming group supporting each other in our daily tasks to organize and declutter and stay on top of all that needs doing. We share our accomplishments and brain dump our to-do lists in a friendly chat over coffee manner. 😊☕️

Just about to head out here to go to pharmacy to pick up injection for my mum, to doctor for her and said injection then me at same doctor for on-going (non-serious, but annoying) foot issue.

It is very windy out. 💨🍃
The wind chimes on my deck are chiming furiously. 🎶

Very tired and unmotivated since getting home around 4pm. Haven't "made" dinner, but put together a fruit plate (grapes, Mandarin oranges, strawberries), naan with hummus and hard-boiled eggs.

Had kids at playground for an hour after med appt and drive home took an hour as traffic is awful. Baby had an epic poo going up back which ended up on the bath mat, towels and floor so that all went into laundry and I washed floors; gave baby a bath and washed tub.
I'm fighting a mild cold and I think I need to get back on an iron supplement as well.
Just waiting for laundry to finish then I'm going to take the kids to the beach for a bit and catch the sunset.

Have now taken an iron pill. ✅
Kids are semi-interested in cold pasta with feta, rocket and prawns, some sliced cheese from a mixed cheese platter I buy from Costco and running up and down the hall- fighting now, I think- and the laundry just finished.

@WinterFrogs - slowly getting back to normal. Council recycling collection is today. We have four crates of bottles out. Probably two more to go next time. Need to clean a folding table we borrowed from next door and return it with random other bits. Trestle tables and other things to someone else. Drinks fridge to someone else. I also have a pile of platters, plates and bowls to put away.

Yesterday I washed hall floor as a new rug was arriving. Also washed kitchen floor. Today I will do dining and sitting areas. Cleaner is in later to do bathrooms although annoyingly DS’s train was cancelled so he decided not to go up to London today so his bathroom won’t get done.

Today:

• usual kitchen/dishwasher
• laundry
• change a bed and wash bedding
• wash floors
• clean next door’s table
• put rug pad under new hall rug
• tidy utility room

Very humid here today. I have been drippy sweating because I have been busy again ( helping with a move)

My cooking yesterday means that dinner is sorted for the week, and shared some with the movers too.

I'm knackered and want it to be bedtime already 😴

I've vacuumed, baked a banana bread and made a pizza. The pizza is tomato sauce, asparagus, rocket, ground beef and mixed cheeses. Let's see if it passes the dc test. 😬
I bought another hair dye while out today. 🙄
I took a good look at my results from the last one. I'm unsure how I missed so much of my hair, including most of my hairline. I'm going to apply the new one very carefully and hope for the best.

Pizza update: Havoc said, "Mmmmm yummy. This is so good!" ✅✅✅✅

Hello all

Very muggy day here today.

Yesterday’s list was pretty much completed except for tidying the utility room.

Today I changed DS’s bed and did his bathroom as he is in London today. Did laundry. Helped DH put supermarket shop away. Did more laundry. Did some weeding and watered the gravel garden. One more section to do along the fence and that’s the weeding done. Need to really keep on top of it as noticed a thistle about six inches high in a bed I did last week. And we have had a mole in the bed too. I h e some bags of mulch to put down once the weeding is finished. And a few more plants to plant. Four plants I put in last week are already not looking happy. With everying going on over the weekend I forgot to water them.

Just having a quick sit down before tidying the kitchen quickly as we have the guy who installed it coming to add in a piece of worktop behind the stove where we have a gap as we changed the stove a few months ago.

After a campaign of harassment against me (and my gifs) i deleted my account

Was probably a bit dramatic of me but I got really upset 😩.

MNHQ didnt bother taking action against the thread attacking me for a day, but deleted my comment back within seconds. Plus they didnt reach out to me to check i'm okay.

So anyway, i deleted and I've popped back on just to say I'll see you all soon.

I cant even catch up on the thread because its an infinite scroll thing and its a faff to sort it!

Love to you all, this thread is magic and got me through some crappy days, so thank you.

And thanks to you lot, especially @WinterFrogs my dd had her first horse riding lesson!! She hated it 😄😄😄😄 and refused to go on the horse or pet him, so will keep trying, despite the eyewatering cost 😩😩

See you soon i'm sure - for now i'm back reading - Jack Kerouac, On The Road, which is putting me in mind to take a road trip with my girl (a sanitised road trip, with lots of snafka and screen time 🙈 but still)

👋 @mumharassed you stick with us! I saw that thread. I'm glad it was taken down - it was nasty! I didn't realise it was aimed at you to begin with but could see it was aimed at someone.

I'm glad you got DD out to the ponies. Some take to it and some don't, but even a small pony looks huge at first. If the people in charge get it right and the ponies are suitable, it can build enormous confidence over time. I did a lot of that in a past life ❤️

GSCEs must be almost over?

I must be out of the door by 8am and not even up yet. Had a two hour 'awake window' from 2am and learnt from menopause board that it could be an HRT patch change timing fail. Apparently best to change it in the morning. Something to do with cortisol spike a few hours after applying.

I have not even thought of a thing to stay done thing yet 🤔

Winter, yes re dough recipe.
2c flour, sift in garlic powder and some salt. About a tsp of each.
1c water, boiled and cooled to 115f, add a tsp of sugar and a tablespoon of yeast and stir.
Add water to flour once yeast has bloomed, stir with a fork, don't get fancy here, until all flour is mixed in and you have a sticky mass of dough. Scrape into a large bowl liberally greased with evoo and turn dough to cover with oil. Pop a tea towel over top and depending on humidity and temp it should rise into a very soft dough in an hour to 90 mins.
I scrape it onto a greased rectangular pan and use my fingers to press to fit.
I swear, the less you handle it, the better.

Busy day here today. Folded and put away laundry; washed another load and hung that up; washed towels and put into dryer; tied up kitchen garbage and took out; cleaned bathroom; created new online banking acct; took call from my mum's GP's office; got kids fed and packed up to go out.
Took kids downtown for FIFA atmosphere, watched a bit of the game at Fat Burger, got them hot dogs, curly fries and kids' shakes (the burgers are better fyi); walked around and took pics, avoided crowds exiting stadium by stopping into library for a while, then toured around some more before back to car, Costco and home. We didn't have "dinner" until 9pm and I put Snoopy cartoons on for them while I had a bath after we ate. They both fell asleep pretty quickly once in bed. Including Costco, it was about 6km of walking, in a bit of heat (24c) and a lot of excitement.

Winter, that hrt sounds complicated. Did your GP not give tips or warnings, though? Has it been helping you, or is it too early to tell?

I didn't get anything done today except get into the garden late afternoon with the kids. Everything got watered, including my 2 year old. 🤦‍♀️ Picked some lettuce, mint and blueberries. The lemon balm, thyme and sage planted by Baby last year are huge.

I am going to give that dough a try @Mumtobabyhavoc thanks. Your pizzas always look splendid! Impressed with gardening haul ✨️
Aw that kid! I'm astonished that a 7 year old can even remember all the words!

We're in for a heatwave in the next day or two. I'm working all morning but plan to tackle some weeds this afternoon if it hasn't heated up too much.

Saturday has rolled around again thank heavens.
Dh has gone to take MIL shopping for paving slabs.
DC have appeared and homework needs to be done. DC1 has another week of mocks to go so revision too. Plus it's Fathers Day tomorrow so they need to put a bit of effort into cards and gifts.
Meanwhile I've ordered the new bathroom, school trousers for September and am building up to clearing the kitchen and paying the summer holiday balance. The house feels quite chaotic so I need to start in a corner and just work outwards. Coffee and some tunes will help.

Glad to see you @mumharassed - I saw that thread and it was so targeted and unnecessary.
@Mumtobabyhavoc - your jobs list and meal plans put me to shame as ever, I'm impressed that I served up pastries and strawberries for breakfast, my two would fall of their perches if I served up homemade pizza. One time I lovingly made a chicken lattice pie, they looked at it and said "that looks nice mummy, well done, I don't want any". Ungrateful duo!

A lazy morning here today. I have done some washing and emptied the dishwasher. Busy day yesterday as had a PT session in the morning and then a Ladies Afternoon Tea for Ascot Ladies day. It always lovely. Came home and we bbq-d some burgers and then our neighbours popped over for a few drinks on our patio which gets the sun longest.

We are out at a party in the village this evening for a 40th wedding anniversary. I want to do some weeding and watering this afternoon.

Not only do some people have a gift, but I think, sometimes, we're meant to happen upon it... for those that need it today. 🩷

So, I've made smug pasta for dinner:
spaghetti tossed with evoo, pepper, feta, grape toms, rocket and left-over rotisserie chicken that needs to be eaten today or thrown away. I sautéed green beans and seasoned with salt and garlic powder as I saw all my garlic is sprouting. 🙄 I've got the rest of the banana bread for dessert and there might be a bit of froyo still in the freezer and maybe a froyo bar.

The kids were fighting over ... extra green beans.😲🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️
Literally grabbing from each other. Baby was winning, but Havoc wrestled a handful away then said, "Don't ever take my food." I had to laugh (on the inside) because I'm so Joey about food, too and Baby loves to poach from me. 🙅‍♀️

And in keeping with the thread... I've now vacuumed. ✅
