And we have the absurdity of Justine using AI to write posts in response to our collective objection to images of nude teens in a thread promoting her campaign to get teens off their phones.

Is that what buyers want?

Did she? How disrespectful.

That whole thing is very odd. Doesn't Justine know about the many perves that hang about on the site?

Adolf to the right then?

I see Musk is calling Farage a liar

Right on right

Badenoch fact checked on her speech

https://bsky.app/profile/fullfact.org/post/3mltdpj32bt2g

The Conservatives’ Alternative King’s Speech claimed the welfare bill is higher than income tax receipts “for the first time ever”.

We’ve heard this a few times recently, but it’s not true. Welfare spending (including pensions) has been higher for years.

I think Gabriel's lot are actually Reform to be fair.

LOL, I expect so. And no, there still won’t be a general election, there’s just going to be another by-election. Meanwhile, there’s a new Health Secretary and Starmer is still PM.

Morning all.

A few musings from me.

Pickachew was deleted yesterday for a slightly sardonic misspelling of Badenoch's name ( not the one using Powell's first name). I was deleted for telling off a poster who was being very insensitive. MNHQ said it was a "mild personal attack" but deleted anyway.

Yet MNHQ allow all sorts of smears against female Labour politicians, especially Rayner. Smears about her abandoning her disabled son. No problem. Smears about Starmer and Savile and rent boys? Also OK.

Threads about benefit bashing and migrant bashing are allowed to stand. The Brighton one was foul. MNHQ seems to not have a handle on spotting very obvious previously banned posters who are deliberately unpleasant.

I see lots of other posters saying the same sort of thing and decent people are starting to drift off. I guess it's all about the £££ and the more of a cesspit the better. It is very sad.

(I am sure the lurkers will mock me for this!)

You only need to look at MN Reddit trolls to see how many non racists have deleted their MN accounts or have been banned by MN because fighting back gets them told off.

ETA it isn't just Labour. Polanski smears and anti semitism are fine. Calling him by a now dead name in order to erase his Jewish heritage. Also fine.

Yes! Very true about Polanski's name.

Afraid I must disagree with you.

MNHQ do an excellent job, in sometimes challenging circumstances - they should be commended, not criticised.

Coffee was delicious, btw.

Good. I can't drink coffee much these days and I do miss it.

BIossomtoes · 15/05/2026 09:06

Decent coffee is one of life’s great pleasures. Sorry you can’t indulge @TemperanceWest.

So much of it gives me heartburn so I'm glad I can enjoy this one, for now.

I'm a tea drinker and I have a lovely selection that DS1s partner brought me back from Hong Kong. Her uncle is a tea merchant so she got expert advice.

Many of us on the right have been warning you of the perils of a Labour government, but you just wouldn’t listen.

You kept talking about Labour’s massive majority, that Starmer was not going anywhere, and that there was zero chance of an early GE.

Well, you are listening now, aren’t you?

What do you mean warning? You haven't been warning us, you've been agitating for it, actively pushing for it, since day one, when you all had a biggest tantrum ever over Labour getting in 😂

There is a new thread on the rise of fascism and in the first post someone says 'what about Polanski'. This is Very Boring now.

DuncinToffee · 15/05/2026 09:56

Saw that thread and thought the same.

'but Polanski' is becoming the new 'but Corbyn'

"The far left make Tommy Robinson look like an angel" is my favourite quote from that thread.

I am a total coffee snob. No instant in this household, and I have separate single estate organic coffee for weekends.

Im enjoying Housing Secretary Steve Reed doing the media rounds and basically telling restive Labour MPs/ Starmer HATAZ to stfu with their fretting. I realise Burnham is a well liked mayor but this building him up as the king over the water to Come And Save Layba is at best sweetly desperate and at worst just tragic.

I mean, if you want a Labour politician with a large electoral mandate and a proven history of someway competent administration, then there's Sir Sadiq Khan who's notched up a decade running ThatLondon. Maybe give him a go?

I actually don’t like coffee, though I curiously really like the smell and I used to eat coffee flavoured desserts. (I can’t eat them now, because I react badly to dairy, gluten and artificial sugar, because of my hiatus hernia and acid reflux I think).

I’m a very big tea drinker, though. 😀

Notonthestairs · 15/05/2026 11:01

Oh goodness, imagine MN if Khan put his name into the ring. Act of domination etc.

But at least he’d back explicit moves to rejoin.
