BREAKING:

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage bought a £1.4 million property in cash shortly after receiving a £5m personal gift from billionaire donor Christopher Harborne, according to property records seen by Sky News.

The house purchase, completed in May 2024, came weeks before Mr Farage reversed his decision not to stand in the general election.

A spokesperson for Reform: "The offer and process for purchase of this property commenced before the gift".

note the use of the word "commenced":

So Farage and girlfriend bought a £800 k house in Clacton and a property for £1.4 million within weeks of each other and coincidentally after being handed £5 million pounds by Thai based millionaire?

Or is it just the one house?

On the basis nobody transfers £5 million without a little bit of chit chat beforehand I think we can assume that the wheels were in motion for the £5 million and the purchases are likely to be linked to the 'sponsorship'.

The Sky News article doesn't mention which property

No one gives away £5m unless its blackmail or they will get something in return.

So not sponsorship really.

It will be interesting to see whether there will be damaging revelations about his relationship with Mandelson at some point.

We don’t know yet whether he has the numbers necessary to launch a leadership bid. It hopefully won’t happen, which will leave him humiliated.

Many commentators are pointing out that his letter suggests that he didn't get the 81 signatures he needed.

It would be interesting, wouldn’t it? I think it’s unlikely though. More likely he’ll move someone highly experienced into health and offer her a job elsewhere.
