Oh wow. That takes some forward planning! Sounds good though, thanks 🙏🏻

It definitely does but I find it easy. Every Friday is pizza night so I always know what we are having that day 🍕

Swanhilde · 13/06/2026 10:49

Morning all - you're very quiet this morning. The sun is out here so I'm planning a day of rest with a small amount of garden pottering ☀️

The v large sage bush needs cutting back now it's finished flowering so I have room to put in some annuals in its space 🌱

Other than that, I will be in bed resting. Kettle's on if anyone wants a brew ☕

MewithME · 13/06/2026 11:06

Morning @Swanhilde . I've been sitting in bed feeling very heavy and twitchy being tortured by the awful tinkly widnchime from next door. I think they've moved it nearer to me. God they're awful neighbours but that's another story.

It's a lovely day ..I will charge my earbuds and sit out a while if I can. Other than that ..I have to just potter through some chores

Feeling very weak and not right and must recharge somehow before work tomorrow 🙈

Morning 👋 decaf tea would be lovely thanks @Swanhilde a day of rest and a potter in the garden sounds good.

Hope you can recharge a bit @MewithME

Ive had DS home briefly which has been rather lovely though I’ve felt pretty exhausted last few days, probably the after effects of seeing the osteopath a couple of days ago. Feel a tad better today which is frustrating now he’s had to leave but often the way!

Sun out here so a quiet day where other than putting in a couple of loads of laundry, I’m going to try to sit outside and read. I shall try not to potter too much or it will be back to exhausted mode tomorrow!

ValleyClouds · 13/06/2026 11:15

I took her to a gig @Tiredandwired2it went ok, but I am knackered now and my head is splitting

morning all

MewithME · 13/06/2026 11:18

Ohh yes coffee 2 please @Swanhilde ☕😊

Morning all. Can I have an espresso laced with diazepam please? 😂

I am consumed with house-hunting 'adventures'. Yesterday's was a nice house, though hard to see with the amount of stuff the current tenant has in there, and I nearly fell down the stairs from the attic room. Had made an appointment to talk to the letting agents about it this morning, but then I saw their online reviews which are awful! Just not taking that risk.

Had booked to see another one tomorrow but they've sneakily put the rent up on the website since I enquired, so cancelled that.

Have made some lists to work through for clearing out/ packing, and ordered some Oxfam donation bags (I like them as can drop them off at the parcel lockers five mins walk away). Got a friend visiting for the day next Friday to help so I need to think about what's most useful for her to do.

Windchimes are annoying @MewithME - I hope they blow away!

TeaAndStrumpets · 13/06/2026 12:14

Thanks @Swanhilde a tankard of your finest peppermint tea, please!

@MewithME hope you can chill out today. Perhaps your neighbour's windchime will meet with an 'accident' during the next storm? Have a sou'wester and scissors at the ready just in case.

@ValleyClouds that's amazing! No wonder you are feeling it today.

@TodayIsatrickyone I felt rough after the osteopath for a day or two this week but it is definitely easier in my neck. My sciatica flared up very briefly and has now subsided. I wish I could walk more, that would be good I'm sure. I feel so stiff all over.

@martha79 it is so important to have a decent agent. Hope you find a gem.

We've recently used the Oxfam bag system although DH was baffled by the QR code and had to have assistance from a teenager! He always has to borrow my smart phone for codes as his is an ancient Nokia brick. At least the battery lasts forever!

We'd tried to donate audio cassette books locally but only Oxfam takes them. I just hate throwing things away.

JewelleryCat · 13/06/2026 12:22

I’ve been watching Trooping the Colour, anyone else like watching?

Oioiqueen · 13/06/2026 12:36

Do we have a new thread set up yet?

Morning all. Staying out of the sun today it feels quite hot but then quite cold in the wind. I'm never happy! Had my sides cut yesterday, I tried a barbers and I'm pleased with the results. I was worried I'd look like a man but actually he has made it look quite sharp. Now with a dodgy comb over like your grandad would do I don't look like a cancer patient too much at the moment. I had some eye liner and eye brow filler stuff delivered yesterday. Hoping to at some point this weekend have a play as my eyebrows and eye lashes have partially disappeared 😂. I might half pass as female at some point, I only wish I'd had it cut short years ago 😂

TodayIsatrickyone · 13/06/2026 12:49

Can I have an espresso laced with diazepam please? 😂
Made me chuckle Martha! Especially having recently been prescribed diazepam for muscle spasms as I was definitely a bit zonked for a few days!

ValleyClouds · 13/06/2026 13:06

@TeaAndStrumpets I soldiered through but I was so tired it was unbelievable couple of moments were I was internally crying thinking of how long it would be before I saw my bed

TodayIsatrickyone · 13/06/2026 13:17

Thats good thinking going to the barber @Oioiqueen and glad you’re happy with the result,
My son’s GF once shaved all her long hair off just because and said it was so liberating! Especially not having to mess about drying long hair after a shower!
Though I appreciate it’s an entirely different situation as it was her choice so hope I’m not being insensitive.

Oioiqueen · 13/06/2026 13:29

@TodayIsatrickyone not insensitive at all. I've always wanted short hair but was never brave enough. I didn't have to shave my hair but when it started coming out at Christmas my head really hurt. So that's when I shaved it, whilst I lose some of it still I am not convinced it's actually more than 'normal' loss. The difference being what I lose just doesn't grow back. I think it's probably coming out less because there isn't the weight on it like there was. I think the thickness of it has helped as the loss doesn't look that much probably about 15-20% in all. At some point I'll switch treatment and some of them I will lose it all. So making the most of having some whilst I can haha.

Yes it's very liberating and dries soooo quickly after a shower. Then in the morning I quickly run my wet hands through it and then repeat with some wax, a quick comb and it's done.

bedfrog · 13/06/2026 13:51

@Oioiqueen your short hair sounds so liberating, even though your hand was forced. I'm glad you're enjoying it!! I get jealous of dh's short easy hair (and sick of hoovering up my own hair all the time).

I love my long hair but it's started shedding so much lately, I don't know if I'm getting my summer coat or if anything else is going on. I counted I'd lost 200 hairs in the shower last night Hmm

My ME is weird lately, I feel healthy but just always so tired and sleepy and low in energy. I don't have any palpitations or swollen lymph nodes or any of the other stuff atm, just terrible brain fog and crushing fatigue. I sleep 9h a night and have a 90 minute coma-nap during the day. And I'm barely doing anything!! Just reading, knitting, watching gentle tv. So frustrating. 30 mins after I eat my eyes get all itchy and tired and I just want to sleep Sad

The usual today. Hopefully I'm doing nothing now so I can do more in the future...

JewelleryCat · 13/06/2026 14:01

Could there be something else going on as well @bedfrog like low iron or thyroid stuff? Would a blood test help? Have you had any shocks happen? I know with me and I don’t know if it’s my autism or my CFS but any shock I have just wipes me out for the day and I can’t do anything

TeaAndStrumpets · 13/06/2026 14:21

@Oioiqueen it's good to have a hairstyle plan, literally styling it out. Your hair sounds very stylish!
It's interesting to consider the changing fashions for short hair over the centuries...quite fashionable for ladies in the Regency era, not fashionable in Victorian / Edwardian times, very fashionable in the 1920s. Short but permed hair in the 1950s, mid 60s short and straight geometric, longish permed in 1980s, then longish but very straight 1990s onwards.

DD2 went travelling in Russia in the early 2000s and she took her hair straighteners with her!! (She would have been better to pack insecticide..... the youth hostel in Moscow was heaving with bed bugs 😮)

@bedfrog mine got long since lockdown but it does shed an awful lot so DH cut it for me this year. He took FAR more off than I asked but I love it now.

Nope, my blood tests were all good except borderline b12 and iron which I'm treating.
No shocks either, it's been going on ages.
There are never any explanations or answers it seems!!
Ugh @TeaAndStrumpets bedbugs!!! My worst nightmare. Russia must have been so interesting to visit though!

It was amazing, they went everywhere by train and saw a lot of little painted churches and communal female saunas etc. One of their group was fluent so that helped. When they got back to the UK they stayed in London with friend's Mum who went ballistic when she saw the bites and kept them and their luggage outside while she checked and cleaned every item. Being teenagers they thought she was being OTT but I was extremely grateful!

Sounds fantastic all around, not least because someone else dealt with the bugs GrinGrin

You have put your finger on it!!

Tiredandwired2 · 13/06/2026 17:38

@ValleyClouds Im not surprised your exhausted. I hope you have managed to have a restful day today. What a lovely thing for you to do.

Lovely weather today and managed to get out with the kids to our local national trust park which was lovely. Got the kids some sweets from the zero waste shop, walked a bit and sat on the picnic blanket in the sun. Now home and need to make an easy dinner.

ValleyClouds · 13/06/2026 17:48

Not going to lie @Tiredandwired2 I’m barely functioning today but she had a nice time and that’s what matters!

Oioiqueen · 13/06/2026 18:12

@bedfrog my first thoughts went to Thyroid like the others. When my current immunotherapy destroyed my thyroid these were my symptoms. Did they do both TSH and T4/T3? The latter isn't often done but can show if there are some issues.

@TeaAndStrumpets I loved the 90's short hair fashion for women. It was almost like a fine scissor cut but all one length. Combined with a very heavy eyeline job and hooped earrings it was 👍🏻. I was only a wee nipper at the time but remember my mum having this kind of cut. It was just plain but oozed sophistication to me at the time.
