The bindweed is tackled and the mock orange is free and smelling gorgeous 🍊

DH did have to tell me off though when my time was up and made me sit and rest with a cuppa ☕

In bed now for the afternoon. Shower and catch up of Gardener's World before bed 🥱

@MewithME I have a Flipstick (as well as hiking poles) which is invaluable. Not so much for walking, but for when you don't know if there'll be any seating or for being in a queue - https://flipstick.co.uk/ ❤️

Walking Stick Seats | Shooting Sticks

Flipstick makes walking stick seats and shooting sticks for all outdoor activities and spectator sports. Buy online from the original manufacturer.

Ooh I love mock orange @Swanhilde so pretty.

Exhausted after my outing yesterday so decided early on today was a rest day as body needs it. Still in bed and staying here for the foreseeable as I know if I go downstairs I’ll start pottering! DD just brought me tea and birthday cake 😊

MewithME · 07/06/2026 17:27

We timed it well and got a seat no problem. All went v well and so happy for DS. He got a trophy so he's super proud of himself.

I've gone way over budget but I've managed!

Fabulous! So pleased it went well, no problem with a seat and a big well done to DS on his trophy 👏 Rest, rest, rest now.

Oh brilliant! Glad it went well

Well done @MewithME and well done to DS!

Fairly quiet day here doing housework and napping, then a friend came over and took me out for a little drive around/ chat about the house stuff. Feeling a bit more positive alternating with overwhelm that I need to deal with this.

TodayIsatrickyone · 08/06/2026 11:59

Morning all,
managed to get an emergency dentist appointment this morning and tooth isn’t good at all. 😕 I do have a rather lovely dentist who is going to try snd save it and fill it as having a tooth out whilst still recovering isn’t the best timing! So fingers crossed he can. Feel like my whole body is falling to bits.
Will need a longer appointment so need to go back next week but tbh it would have been too much today as still feeling rather rough after quick trip out on Sat. So rest, rest, rest now.

Hope all can have a peaceful day x

TeaAndStrumpets · 08/06/2026 12:45

Hope the dentist works his magic @TodayIsatrickyone I hated going to the dentist when young but modern painkillers are so good, bonus is you can recline and think of other things!

I've been to the osteopath this morning and as I had deduced things are loosening up so 2 weeks until next visit. I need to book in at the optometrist so will wait a few days before I venture out again. So pathetic, but I can't do things on consecutive days unless unavoidable. I know it will take me hours to choose a frame too!

TeaAndStrumpets · 08/06/2026 12:47

Forgot to say well done @MewithME proud mum!

Still not on my favourites list! Oh well there's no hiding place for you lot 😄

JewelleryCat · 08/06/2026 12:51

@TeaAndStrumpets depending on where you go, you could always browse the website first. Like if you go to Specsavers, they have a lot of frames on the website and they do virtual try on so you can see if the frames fit you

@MewithME congratulations on your DS winning a trophy!

@TodayIsatrickyone good luck at the dentist

How is everyone’s Monday?

Dozymoo42 · 08/06/2026 14:13

Congrats to your DS ! @MewithME

good luck at the dentist @TodayIsatrickyone

Quiet day for me today went to a family gathering yesterday for my nephews birthday and I over “peopled” so woke up today exhausted and wobbly 😢 resting up though as we are hopefully going to see our friends new baby for cuddles tonight and I can’t wait!

TodayIsatrickyone · 08/06/2026 14:55

I’m the same with doing things on consecutive days @TeaAndStrumpets It’s a pain isn’t it but think of it as excellent pacing! Glad things are loosening for you.
Sometimes it can’t be helped, my osteopath is very booked up so I booked in advance on tje website for 1 July knowing I also have an appointment on 30 June but not thinking about the fact that of course June only has 30 days!! 🙄

That’s good to know about being able to try on glasses virtually at specsavers @JewelleryCat I’d never have thought of that.

Rest up @Dozymoo42 so you can enjoy baby cuddles later.

Dentist again next week as need a longer appointment so won’t know really til he tries to fill it if he’ll manage or not.

JewelleryCat · 08/06/2026 15:13

Also if you are eligible, Specsavers do come out for a home visit but I’m not sure on the eligibility. Might be handy to research it though just in case someone might be eligible 🙂

Home from work and in bed with a cuppa ☕

Feeling shattered. Will have an early night 🥱

Orangesandlemons77 · 08/06/2026 17:24

I'm not really keeping up either but thinking of you all Flowers all ok here been sleeping quite a lot.

ValleyClouds · 08/06/2026 18:00

Achieved absolutely nothing today

Tired

martha79 · 08/06/2026 19:10

Evening all. Fairly quiet day at work. Enquired about a house to rent and got a viewing tomorrow - but being realistic that it's unlikely I'll get the first thing I see. At least I've started the process.

martha79 · 08/06/2026 19:16

Also had counselling today and I've been challenged around letting go of control and asking for help - so rather than just get a taxi tomorrow, I have asked a friend for a lift. Go me 🤣

bedfrog · 08/06/2026 19:35

Hi everyone. Seems a lot of us are struggling at the moment!
I had my covid booster today. The pharmacist was lovely and did the injection really carefully after I told her they can trigger my nerve pain. She was fantastic and really caring.

Also popped in the library. That's a social event as much as an errand.

Apart from that I've been mostly watching Midsomer Murders and working on my seaglass cardigan. It's so close to being finished!!

Picked my first spring onions from the garden yesterday - delicious.

Curry for dinner again. Fibre maxing with cauliflower and red lentils 😋

Hope everyone is well. My mum has been sending me photos from her day out today, it just feels so unfair I'm not able to do all of that with this fatigue. I am fed up of it!!!

JewelleryCat · 08/06/2026 20:05

@bedfrog Midsomer Murders can be very good as background tv. I recommend Death in Paradise for background tv too and The Puzzle Lady (I think it was called that). Can we see the seaglass cardigan when it’s done? It sounds interesting 🙂

TeaAndStrumpets · 09/06/2026 09:28

Morning all!

I'm still banished from watched threads so it's a mystery! Have to click link from emails. Briefly sunny but forecast is for a lot of rain. DH was out before 9am mowing the grass, so we'll see how accurate the forecast is! Looks like he's done the front now and moved to the back so fingers crossed. We've got more rain later in the week so no good day really.

I have enjoyed being warm these last few weeks, quite a novelty! I spotted a moth perched on my trusty shawl last week so it's been in the freezer! I'm warming it up today near a sunny window then it'll go back in the freezer for a few days. Just a precaution but I am paranoid about moths. Last year we started catching a lot in the traps so all my sweaters got washed and frozen and put in ziplock bags. I just hate them.
