Which is you favourite city in the world? I have three
Bristol - for the music scene, creativity and independent spirit
Munich - for the lakes, cycling culture, climate
Marseille - for the beaches, proximity to Provencal towns and landscape, diversity, and the fact it is in France

Agree with Paris and Madrid. Wonderful places. I have never been to Naples. I find Venice magical, though. Isn't Europe incredible?

Paris - although so many people on here seem to have had bad experiences. I have been there tons of times now, but the first time it was my birthday and I was with my boyfriend and the waiter asked if we were celebrating as we ordered (the tiniest) bottle of champagne - I was 18 and told him in my stammering French that it was my birthday. They upgraded us to a big bottle, gave us free desserts and sang me Bonne Anniversaire. I go to Paris every other year now for the rugby and I have never been treated with anything but kindness and respect. The French and indeed the Parisians are no different to anyone else! People are people!

Cardiff/Swansea - I did my Masters in Cardiff and I go back for the rugby, but I live in Swansea and I LOVE Swansea. More bohemian, the beach is miles long and right there and ends with Mumbles. I think where I live is wonderful.

Stanley - Falkland Islands, I lived there for four years and wrote the application to make it a city (outing, but do I care?!) Brilliant people who have done so much with their freedom. Challenging and amazing place to live and by and large I had so much love heading to a place where I didn't know a soul.

Marseille is a bizarre choice. I found it to be a very rough and intimidating city.

Best cities I’ve experienced in no particular order and for very different reasons would be Melbourne, Edinburgh, Berlin, and Torshavn.

Meant to add, I love Marseilles too, my first ever boyfriend's family were from Plan De Cuques in La Montade (have I got that right, something like that?!) and although I wasn't entirely understood speaking my GCSE French it's a fabulous place (I went after the really big fires that stopped at the end of their road) and we all sat outside drinking wine and then his grandmother said to me: "WALES! WALES!" Because she had learned how to say where I was from but couldn't remember the word in English. I had said it in French but she couldn't remember the English - looking back I should have said the Welsh! - but when she remembered it we all thought she was having a heart attack until I realised! I've had nothing but kindness from French people home and abroad, they're ace.

I don't know tbh. There are so many cities that have lots to offer, it's hard to choose.

If I had to pick one, maybe Tokyo.

Bizarre to you but not bizarre to others. I found it friendly and welcoming.

London. Have lived in or just outside for most of my life then went to college and worked in central for pretty much my whole adulthood. I just can’t get enough of it and will happily spend a day on my own just wandering. It’s a bit rough and dirty in places but I love the history, the architecture, the theatres, the arts and the people. All types of people brushing shoulders.

I get that. I really liked Moscow but others hated it. The same was true for quite a few other Eastern European cities. I also liked Tirana way before it was westernised. The place was bonkers!
