She was rearrested but is just seems like its been covered up by great lawyers

What exactly has been covered up? What do you know that is not in the public domain? Have you goner to the police with this information?

Please don’t use epileptic as a noun. People with epilepsy find it stigmatising.

Please dont presume to speak for all people with epilepsy. I have no problems being referred to as epileptic (the same way I would be a diabetic). It’s really the least of my worries. If you find it offensive yourself than say so, but please don’t presume so make generalisations that every single person with epilepsy feels the same.

ChefsKisser · 15/04/2026 06:13

I find it strange that if it was a genuine medical emergency eg a fit that she hasn’t publicly or privately apologised to the parents. She clearly hasn’t as they have reported no contact from her and are deeply unhappy still with the investigation. Even if beyond your control I would be horrified and spend my life apologising.
I have friends who work in the hospital she was taken to. They have their own opinions on the case.

Some very naive posts on here. Think about any relatively major news stories you can remember from the last few years, whether someone was charged or not. Media would usually manage to get their hands on a photo and some background info. In this case, Clare Freemantle has had nearly everything about her wiped from the internet, no photos on any news article, all no doubt through some kind of super injunction which has come through her privileged connections. One single solitary photo exists, an overhead drone shot showing where the car ended up. No dashcam footage exonerating her, no CCTV in the public domain, no bodycams to be seen. 11 police officers investigated for potential gross misconduct. This case was never investigated thoroughly; it was obvious when it happened, and it’s obvious now. The same with that American diplomat’s wife who drove on the wrong side of the road outside the airbase and killed that young lad on a motorcycle. No photo of her, no trace of her, flown out of the country in the ensuing days, and the case was essentially swept under the carpet. Something is super fishy about how Clare Freemantle managed to career that huge Defender off the road and plough into a bunch of people at such force. These two schoolgirls have never received proper justice.

I think you’re being naive. You can’t possibly think she got a super injection just because they’re rich.

HJ40 · 15/04/2026 06:22

Go on then @ChefsKisser, what are those opinions?

ChefsKisser · 15/04/2026 06:23

Well mainly that she didn’t appear typically post-ictal and was more concerned about optics than the children.

Reading between the lines everything points to the fact that the police don’t believe she has epilepsy. That they think she’s made the whole seizure story up to avoid prosecution. They may be right but I’m not sure she can prove it.

Someone said earlier she posted someone online before this incident she was epileptic? Ofcourse she could have lied about THIS ‘fit’

I saw that comment in this thread yesterday and it’s the first time I’ve heard of it.

The driver denies having had any seizure before and her medical records back this up, she was not diagnosed with epilepsy at the point of the seizure from what i understood.

unless the previous media reports are incorrect 🤷‍♀️

Helpboat · 15/04/2026 06:34

Does anyone know whether she was breathalysed or checked for drugs in her system?

Can’t see that information in the articles online.

If she was not under the influence….
and her epilepsy defence isn’t credible then why? Why did she drive the way she did ?

I thought anyone can get super injunctions if you can prove its detrimental to their lives if the stories are in the media.

Not if it’s in the public interest.

I wouldn’t argue we need to be able to freely access photos of this woman - I think she or anyone else are well within their rights to cut off access to their image- but you can not suppress stories that are ruled in the public interest

in this scenario there would’ve had to be someone to injunct (ie the daily mail) who were going write a story to take the court. You cannot just randomly turn up at court demanding an injunction against nobody.

and mr banker might be rich, but up against the newspaper groups legal teams, he certainly wouldn’t be alone.

Mainly stuff in the guardian in the weeks after the incident but even the front page of the daily mail today , I’ll paste bits below.

The driver, Claire Freemantle, was not charged with any offence after telling police she had suffered an epileptic seizure for the first time and had no recollection of the crash.
The force decided to reopen the case in October 2024 after a serious case review uncovered significant flaws in the way officers conducted the initial investigation, including consideration of medical evidence which led to the case being dropped.
One of the key issues in the original investigation was the diagnosis of epilepsy, which is notoriously difficult to detect without brain scans shortly after a seizure and a detailed consideration of a patient's medical history.
When the case was subsequently reopened, police made an appeal to those who witnessed the crash to come forward to help officers understand whether the driver's behaviour was consistent with her diagnosis.

I assume he has crisis teams employed by his firm Morgan Stanley. I wondered why there was very little reporting at the time. Maybe the parents have raised the racism angle to get the story back in the media.

I thought similar about the man who pushed the woman on Putney Bridge, no arrests, not a racist thing but more that the story was shelved due to the person themselves paying people off

I think you mean that some epileptics prefer to be described as “people with epilepsy”. Others (my brother included) find that clunky and prefer to use epileptics. It’s a personal choice.

wtf? Who paid who off? The victims clearly haven’t been paid off. The school clearly haven’t. Are you suggesting the police judges and indeed, the whole media have been paid off? By an employee of a bank?

this is starting to scream of sw London bootlicking where being a senior employee in a bank is the pinnacle of the fucking universe but in the real world, people far richer and more important than him don’t manage to pay off the media or justice system every single day

alleging wide scale police bribery is incredibly serious.

JohnofWessex · 15/04/2026 07:43

I suspect that there is a bit of a collision between a wealthy well connected driver and wealthy well connected school and parents of the victims.

If it was a working class boy racer with a BMW with no tax & insurance it might be different.

The vehicle involved though is relevant as it did exactly what it was meant to do and mount the pavement at speed, something I suggest most cars - and vans cannot

But there isn’t- the school and victims parents have been very vocal at their upset for the lack of prosecution.

On her phone? Distracted by something else? In a hurry and not giving due care to the speed or the bend? Plenty of reasons which she would prefer to avoid being found guilty of.

But it doesn’t make sense that she didn’t brake in any of those scenarios. Are you suggesting she sat texting away whilst her car crashed through a wall?!

I don't think it will be bribery (surely not?). I do think it's entirely possible that having friends in high places will have influenced the police inquiry.

I think you need to read posts a few times before you reply.

This poster was not suggesting a pay off or bribery in the Wimbledon case. Are you always this dramatic in your reactions?

really? The post in question:

“That the story was shelved due to the person themselves paying people off”

ilovebrie8 · 15/04/2026 08:35

If this was a regular person not rich, privileged etc and they hit a school causing deaths, there would have been pictures of them and they'd have been dealt with differently.

All info on her and pics have been removed to protect her, that is money and an expensive legal team.

It seemed to have been made to go away and hushed up...hence 11 police now being looked into.
