Foods and drinks that only taste good in certain situations

Food and drink.
It only taste good if or when?

i`ll start for me its the following.

Lucozade only taste`s good if im unwell.
Taco/ fajita wraps tast better cold.
Jacket potato taste better homemade, mirocwave ones yuk.
Hot lemon only taste good when ill.

Lucozade is shite since they put sweetner in it!

Caipirinha only tastes good in Brazil.

Coca cola only tastes good when I'm coming down with Covid. Had covid twice and both times got a huge craving for coke a few hours beforehand. Never drink coke on other occasions.
(my DH and I did have a conspiracy theory that it was the coke that gave me the covid 😅😅 but the first explanation seems more likely.)

Orangina is far better in a bar in France!

Ouzo and retsina both only taste nice in Greece.

Fried onions and hot dogs at the funfair 😁

Fresh orange juice only tastes good in Spain/Florida.

Big tomatoes only taste good in Spain/France.

Pick ‘n mix only tastes good at the cinema.

That’s probably because they still use the original recipe, not the one with sweeteners.

Fanta in Italy is similar.

Fresh bread dipped in olive oil with a hint of balsamic vinegar - only good in the sunshine abroad!

Coca Cola only from the glass bottles.

Lager when I’m just the wrong side of too hot.

Milk from the machine at school when it came out slightly foamy on top. Could never drink it from a bottle or a carton, only from this one specific machine.

I think beer only tastes nice at the pub. I try and drink it at home and can't finish a pint. In the pub I'll slurp that down in 5 minutes.

Full fat Coke only tastes good from a glass bottle.

Most local wines only taste good on holiday, not when you get them home.

Cucumber only in a tuna sandwich
Celery only when hidden in stews and soup but makes a big difference to flavour.
Tomato in cooking but not raw

Spaghetti is the nicest-tasting pasta, even though they’re all made of the same stuff.

Cider is best drunk in pub gardens on a hot day.
Chips are best eaten at the seaside.
Tomato soup (has to be Heinz) is the best food when recovering from illness.

Mussels or moules or cozze or whatever. You have to near the sea to get the benefit. Any sea within reason.

Doner kebabs are best after a night out!

Yes! Tastes completely different!

Fat coke on holiday in the sun somewhere from a glass bottle with ice and lemon

I never drink fizzy drinks otherwise
