Foods and drinks that only taste good in certain situations

Food and drink.
It only taste good if or when?

i`ll start for me its the following.

Lucozade only taste`s good if im unwell.
Taco/ fajita wraps tast better cold.
Jacket potato taste better homemade, mirocwave ones yuk.
Hot lemon only taste good when ill.

Paninis only taste good in cafes.

BBQ food only tastes good sitting outside in the sunshine.

I have friends who like to BBQ through the winter and bring it indoors to eat. No no no no no no no.

My only pregnancy craving was Coca Cola! No other brand, and I'd never really drunk it before. I tried non caffinated options and dandelion and burdock was the closest but just didn't get there.

Don’t like drinking coffee. Love a Tiramasu though.

A can of Dr Pepper tastes way better if it's out of the fridge from a chippy. I think it's a thin layer of residue on the top of the can from being near the fryers or something like that.

I can eat ice cream all year round but slushies only taste good in the summer.

Soup isn't filling if the weather is hot and I'm starving again within an hour, but it keeps me going all day in winter.

Indian curry has to be a Saturday night evening meal, no other time.of the day or week will be acceptable

Croissants, freshly baked warm and crispy from the baker's van early in the morning in a little French village, eaten with good coffee on the terrace of the gite, as the sun is starting to gently warm the day

Toasties made from cheap white bread, plastic ham & cheese - only to be eaten in Greece/Italy. Taste fantastic - crap at home.

Yes, that bottle is still in my drinks cupboard 10 years later

Oh yes French Orangina is the best. Preferably from the little glass bottle on a hot day.

Pimms and lemonade is much nicer on a hot, summer's day. Cider and lager also.

Ready salted crisps are better eaten when drinking alcohol.

Mulled wine - you need to be outdoors and freezing

Chinese food in a restaurant rather than takeaway

@canuckup I came here to say, Greek salad in Greece. I've given up buying feta, extra special olive oil etc to make it here in the UK. However good the ingredients, the magic is missing. You need to be sitting outside under a lemon tree with a view of a sparkly turquoise sea!

I so agree about red wine in the rain. I want to be under the awning in Florence immediately.

Aperol spritz. Glorious sipped on sun lounger by a pool in Italy, tastes like Tizer anywhere else.

Dominoes garlic dip is only delicious with dominoes pizza

dandelion & burdock with fish & chips
wine - it really turns my stomach when people do airport wine at 5am!!

I think I agree with this, drank €5 wine in France, delicious. Bought a few bottles home and they taste exactly like what they are, very cheap bottles of wine 🤣

I think a pint of beer only tastes nice in a beer garden in the sunshine. I really enjoy it there but not ever in other situations.

I remember being given raki by a Greek boatman who looked like Zeus. The waves were glittering in the sunset as his boat took us home from a beautiful day on a stunning beach. The raki was the most wonderful thing I had ever drunk.

So we took some home with us, of course, and it is basically petrol.

Ice cold Bud from the tap, only good on arrival at LAX

Indian restaurant food only good on a Friday or Saturday night.

Gin and tonic at its pinnacle of excellence on a hot summer night when you’ve bagged the last outdoor table on the patio.

Also, herbal teas and alcohol-free beer: lovely on a nice day out but bleakness-in-a-cup at home.

A pint of real ale tastes best in the winter while sat in a country pub that's got a log fire. Ideally there should be a golden retriever or similar under the table, sneaking crisps.

A pint of lager tastes best in a pub garden in the summer. If it's beside a river then it's even better.

I wss coming on to say coca cola in glass bottles ,i dont like coca cola otherwise
