Artemis- the pure amount of disbelief in the space mission

Has anyone else noticed the huge numbers of people who believe it is made up, cgi, actors etc. My fb feed is full of it..add in the flat earthers. Im used to my conspiracy theorist pal coming out with it but this blows my mind that its on such a huge scale. I can't get my head round why it would be made up, what purpose would it serve?

I’ve now died so many times from the covid vaccine that the 5G no longer affects me.

I can't wait for 6G so the covid vaccine can kill me even faster.

Zov · 11/04/2026 23:02

I haven't seen or heard any of this @cobrakaieaglefang All of my social circle, neighbours, family etc believe it. Also, I have not seen anything online where anyone has said they don't believe it......

Why on earth would anyone think this is made up? Confused

.

Bet your chip implant told you to say that.

Wake Up Weather GIF by ABCNT

Or the CHEM TRAILS!!!!!

Foundress · 11/04/2026 23:16

I haven’t read anything about people disbelieving that the Artemis mission was real. I did rather hope that during the 40 minutes the communication system was down something exciting would happen. Contact with aliens on the far side of the moon. Or that ‘grabber’ space ship belonging to the baddie from the 007 Moonraker film scooping them up.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 11/04/2026 23:17

I think it's Bots originating in Russia/China/N Korea/Iran etc and is all about destabilizing the West as was Covid deniers and Anti-Vaxers, etc.

cobrakaieaglefang · 11/04/2026 23:18

Lol...yes...chemtrails, flat earth, the sodding lot..verbal conversations listened to then appearing on my feed. Is that a conspiracy too? 🤔 It is literally one person I know, but he spouts it all day in, day out. Absolutely obsessed with 'the elites' hiding, lying and covering up everything.

OP posts:
cobrakaieaglefang · 11/04/2026 23:22

@Zovthats what I don't get, the purpose of it being faked, if intended its a elaborate distraction from Epstein/Trump. Im sure they could have come up with something cheaper!

OP posts:
LBFseBrom · 11/04/2026 23:26

Some people like to believe conspiracy theories, in the same way that many like to think the worst of people and enjoy scandalmongering stories. Facebook is full of them.

I'm indifferent to Artemis.

RafaistheKingofClay · 11/04/2026 23:30

Ah now I do have a lot of people on Twitter who don’t believe in clouds.

IAmBeaIDrinkTea · 11/04/2026 23:30

RafaistheKingofClay · 11/04/2026 22:09

Artemis 4. Hopefully 2028.

It has provided an excellent set of accounts to block on Twitter, OP. Lots of blue ticks so I’m not sure how many of them are real.

Blue ticks used to actually mean something on Twitter, now it means any old gobshite with more money than they have brain cells can purchase one to spout their shit. One of the reasons I left last year, as it's just unusable now.
As for the OP, I'm with you. YANBU. Was literally saying this earlier today how my feed is awash with conspiracy theorists of some sorts.
I honestly think there's not enough being done about online radicalisation and misinformation spreading. (Not sure where you'd begin to start with that, mind.)
Back years ago you'd just chat to people you knew down the pub. Nowadays online echo chambers where you all chat shit to each other without challenging views are all too sadly the norm.

Iloveeverycat · 11/04/2026 23:34

I dont believe it is fake but think it is odd that the last time we went to the moon was in 1972

ChristPleaseJustStop · 11/04/2026 23:37

DomesticArchaeologist · 11/04/2026 22:04

Let me be clear that I believe it’s all true, but it’s serving as a very good distraction for Trump now not only from the Epstein files but also from the war that was arguably (I say that so this won’t get deleted haha) started to distract from the Epstein files.

But then Melania did her weird stilted speech about Epstein to remind everyone about it!

Love that bit of sabotage from her. She's clearly got a good sense of humour.

RafaistheKingofClay · 11/04/2026 23:37

It’s the monetisation. I have started to block any account that I think has posted something stupid or controversial just to make money from the engagements. It’s made it a much better experience. As has only engaging in stuff you want to see more of and ignoring the rest.

Ihopeithinkiknow · 11/04/2026 23:47

What makes me laugh is when they say “it’s just a distraction” so anyone who is actually distracted has just been reminded of it again by people telling everyone it’s a distraction. Seems like a really stupid plan to distract people when it does the opposite.

I agree with this. I don't see conspiracy theory posts on tiktok but they are all over the comments on sciencetok. They get roll eyes very swiftly. I wonder if the bots have discussions with each other on conspiracy-tok? 😁

Sure you can. Park on the moon. Put on your spacesuit and have a run around. Get
back in and blast off pointing to the Earth. What more is there to it?

I do love this answer.

To deflect all of the other shit?

What I find fascinating is they went all that way and didn't get off at the moon? Surely they could've brought a few lumps of it back, it's worth a fortune that stuff

Well, Im English, but one of the things I remember from visiting Washington is the piece of moon rock in the Smithsonian museum atrium. Touchable. Totably fabulous.

Touching a Piece of the Moon

In the over 40 years our lunar touchrock has been on display, millions of people have walked through our doors and touched a piece of the Moon. Intrigued by this idea, staff photographer Jim Preston took over 60 photos of visitors touching our little p...

Why is that odd? It's perfectly feasible if you think about costs etc.

icecreamflowers · 12/04/2026 01:49

I watched the original moon landing as a child. At the time, there was a space race between the USA and the Russians. There was all this Cold War stuff going on, and beating Russia in space travel was important to the US. Someone pointed out recently (apart from 4,000 plus people from different countries involved in the 60s and 70s moon landings having to all be lying) that if the US hadn't really landed on the moon, Russia would have said something!

Still many people think the original landing was faked and/or filmed by Stanley Kubrick on Earth. It is not suprise given Pizzagate, Q-anon, Lizard People, mechanical birds, and whatnot, that loads of loopy people think both Artemis 2 and the Apollo missions are fake. But now, as opposed to back in the late 60s and early 70s, they have easy means to spread their idiotic 'theories',

I am in awe of the astronauts purely because they have to be whizzes at all science things, not vomit uncontrollably or pass out, be super fit AND be media personalities. I would be exhausted just having to do one live stream in a week.

Imagine getting parachuted into the ocean from space and not staggering out, vomiting and shouting "don't fucking look me, you fucks!!"

I think they must be psychopaths.

Edited

🤣

Doesn't bore me, I always wanted to go up in space. I did a degree in Space Physics years back.
However, having discovered how sick I get on extreme fairground rides I suspect I'd have never passed even a preliminary physical.

I heard you the first time ! ( joke)

me too I adore space and I get jk motion sickness at all - I’d go in a heartbeat

It's a test flight ahead of Artemis 3 which will land on the moon.

Artemis 4 I think Artemis three will test drop a lunar module
