Artemis- the pure amount of disbelief in the space mission

Has anyone else noticed the huge numbers of people who believe it is made up, cgi, actors etc. My fb feed is full of it..add in the flat earthers. Im used to my conspiracy theorist pal coming out with it but this blows my mind that its on such a huge scale. I can't get my head round why it would be made up, what purpose would it serve?

Frumpitydoo · 11/04/2026 20:30

Yep, nobody's buying it this time.

GasperyJacquesRoberts · 11/04/2026 20:57

As a general rule, conspiracy theories tend to appeal to the paranoid, the poorly educated, the desperately ill-informed and/or those who have a desperate need to assuage their inferiority complex. Believing in a conspiracy theory makes someone feel like they've got secret knowledge that puts them at a higher level of intellect than the "sheeple" who believe stuff that's merely got a broad and deep factual basis to support it.

ShakyBake · 11/04/2026 21:58

What I find fascinating is they went all that way and didn't get off at the moon? Surely they could've brought a few lumps of it back, it's worth a fortune that stuff

bunnyvsmonkey · 11/04/2026 22:00

I am in awe of the astronauts purely because they have to be whizzes at all science things, not vomit uncontrollably or pass out, be super fit AND be media personalities. I would be exhausted just having to do one live stream in a week.

Imagine getting parachuted into the ocean from space and not staggering out, vomiting and shouting "don't fucking look me, you fucks!!"

I think they must be psychopaths.

DomesticArchaeologist · 11/04/2026 22:01

I must move in very boring circles as I haven’t seen any of this! @GasperyJacquesRoberts explains it very well I think.

It’s a totally different mission to land on the moon, you can’t just stop off for a quick wander 😆

But that's what they did in 69?

I wouldn’t be surprised if actually landing on the moon doubled the cost of the mission.

I find it equally fascinating and scary how curated algorithms and ideas are on social media feeds, I’ve seen absolutely nothing like this at all.

Its only encouraging those who have these kind of beliefs to think they’re right when the echo chamber around them are typically all agreeing.

AndAllOurYesterdays · 11/04/2026 22:04

I've not seen anything like this either. You may need to retrain your algorithms

Let me be clear that I believe it’s all true, but it’s serving as a very good distraction for Trump now not only from the Epstein files but also from the war that was arguably (I say that so this won’t get deleted haha) started to distract from the Epstein files.

Yep, I’m not saying it’s not been done, just that’s not what was ever planned this time, it was a different mission.

They have a moon landing planned in a few years, I think they said 2029 on the news but I’d have to check.

Although truly bizarrely Meliana’s Epstein speech has brought it up again when nobody else was talking about it, really odd.

garlicandsapphires · 11/04/2026 22:08

I didn’t know it was contested! I think you need to get off FB. I left ages ago - it’s absolutely rubbish.

Gagamama2 · 11/04/2026 22:08

ShakyBake · 11/04/2026 22:02

The have to work up to it in stages again. To make sure everything works properly and is safe. Just because they landed in 69 doesn’t mean it would be safe to jump straight back to that now - they are using completely different technology and parts for one thing and need to test them first.

im happy the re-entry went well and everything worked as it should. The poster above who said they may be psychopaths is right 🤣🤣 i have literally no idea how someone could be mentally strong enough to go through all that then smile and wave on camera

PuppyMonkey · 11/04/2026 22:08

…surely if they’d faked it this time, they would have made it more interesting. GrinWink

Aren’t they? I’ve seen nobody question it at all?

What purpose would it serve to fake this? What am I missing here?

Artemis 4. Hopefully 2028.

It has provided an excellent set of accounts to block on Twitter, OP. Lots of blue ticks so I’m not sure how many of them are real.

Yeah where were the aliens?? And if you’re going to fake it why just the moon? Why not Mars? That would be more interesting 😆

I think it was on LBC I heard the theory that they’re bringing it up to take the focus off the war 😂

Sure you can. Park on the moon. Put on your spacesuit and have a run around. Get
back in and blast off pointing to the Earth. What more is there to it?
