Flat is very messy as husband is extremely poorly. Kitchen has dirty dishes. I am doing it on my own and baby is a velcro 9 month old and breastfeeds on demand. Typing this while he is suckling from me. Husband is so poorly he keeps vomitting into a baby potty (obviously never been used by baby, i just got it in advance)

He called the ambulance v early in the morning. He is sleeping in the spare room which has the baby changing table, baby wardrobe and a playmat with toys on the floor (noticed after paramedics left there was a cable on the floor). Honestly baby moves v slowly and i am usually with baby so will carry him off when he touches anything he shouldnt. He cosleeps with me in the master bedroom and the cot is full of clean clothes ( i put away some when i get a moment). Baby has never slept in it as he cosleeps (of course the ambulance staff dont know that but i think they saw it while standing in hallway).

They took husband away in ambulance, he honestly wasnt very lucid and kept saying he has a learning disability which means he cant reach his GP so no records of thr GP appointment. Truth is he has private health insurance so usually goes for private medical care do a & e staff can't see any records. He doesnt have a learning disability but has been diagnosed with adhd and he got a private antibiotics prescription yesterday.

They took my husband and left me with baby. No questions asked about baby but they did see baby as i was carrying him while talking to them.

How much solid food is your child eating? At that age it’s very unusual for them to be milk fed so constantly you can’t clean and tidy.

Not true at all.
I breastfed for many years and up until 2 it was quite often.

OP I haven't finished reading your responses but please don't worry. From what I've read so far there's nothing alarming, try to ignore posters trying to file you up for not parenting the western way.

Do you think there would be a measles outbreak if they had a lid on things.

https://www.mylondon.news/news/north-london-news/north-london-measles-cases-top-33482570

The outbreak is because vaccination rates are at 65% in the area. Quick access to a GP wouldn't prevent it.

The NHS is struggling, but it is not the cause of a measles outbreak. The measles virus is.

I hope everyone is on the mend

DH's hospital notes. The health system in uk broke down a long time ago.

He was also discharged home and he is isolating from us.. dh has his own issues as eyes have gotten worse

It doesn’t say he has measles. It says potentially measles, they have told him to stay at home to
isolate and they have sent off a test for measles, the action is to follow up as to whether he has measles. If he had measles it is a notifiable condition and your GP or community team would have been in touch immediately to do contact tracing.

Pcr has come back positive. Health protection team has been in contact. They did ask about where he has been but re vaccine and protecting baby, they arent doing anything. They were also in contsct 3 hours after i vaccinated baby. They were super happy about this when dh told them.

They also told him his infectious period is over based on dates. So i really had no choice but to pay for early vaccine as there is no provision for that on the nhs despite guidance being that 9 month old babies who have been exposed should ideally be vaccinated ideally within 72 hours. 1 year is just following normal vaccine schedule.

No wonder gp fobbed me off, they arent going to do more if health protection team says 1 year

Even if they do there’s nothing to worry about. Social services aren’t the parenting police they are there to provide support to family’s who are struggling

Just read all your updates @Sophie2082. I too live in a part of the UK where the NHS barely functions. We also go private frequently. As do many people I know. It’s the only way to get treatment.

I hope that your DH recovers soon and you’ve done the right thing by getting baby vaccinated.

Thank you. For some reason barnet gp practices are quite dysfunctional. I have switched several gp practices and it hasnt improved. My maternity care at uclh was slightly better. And if i tell them baby has any issue they tell me to go there. Gp receptionist even asked me to go there for vaccination. For christ sakes.

I didn’t say it couldn’t happen, I said it was unusual. It would be unusual for a 2yr old child to have the feeding patterns of a newborn, so much so that you can’t clean, go to work, etc.
