At it's roots. I did see it mentioned if this would stretch regional States "friendship" with Israel. Patience might be wearing thin. Public sentiment being more forceful in these authoritarian places ?

1/ NYT out with a huge piece on the decision to go to war. It's much as we thought: Bibi sold Trump a rosy scenario that he heard over the mild to moderate warnings that it was BS but the details are so...appalling/demoralizing.

Yes indeed - the article above discusses that it was fairly agreed and known that regime change couldn’t be effected though possible to kill the ayatollah.

It is absolutely despicable how Trump played it as helping the Iranians - not that he’s ever helped anyone but himself, and it was not really credible I suppose. But to give false hope and later ignore that you did - just no words.

I usually think that when folk mumble a bit or specify a very limited part of a plan ‘could’ be achieved then usually that plan is pretty rubbish.

Obviously, Trump wanted to believe Bibi rather than his own advisors - odd when American is the greatest everything, which I suppose is including said advisors and army general.
