I felt humiliated today

At work today my manager brought us some treats in for Easter, I had a biscuit and was eating it on the shop floor, she actually told me off I felt like a naughty school girl, she told me to hide it, I felt so humiliated, this isn’t the first time she’s done things like this, is she bullying me?

OP posts:

Yep - no attitude problem there. Swearing at people that don’t agree with you, you are clearly a joy to manage.

Hang on. Unfair. That wasn't disagreement, OP was being called a brat, do you expect her to respond all sweetness and light?
And then you couldn't resist a little pop either.

Bullies on MN.

Lol 😆 well, I might not eat it in bed now, as that's not really the done thing 😅

thats a very good point, remember in the kitchen only,

Marysnail · 05/04/2026 01:04

No but her attitude on the thread was always going to get people’s backs up.

Crumbs in the sheets are a pain though. Biscuits and toast are banned from my bed. A bacon butty is a different matter. On a plate.

IncessantFlames · 05/04/2026 00:59

I think it's more about your attitude.

Attitude on all these pages of MN's having a pop at the OP?

What on earth do you expect?
And we have no idea if she has this attitude to her boss to her face.

I would assume at home you can do whatever you want. Working for other people in a customer facing role would obviously have different rules.. Or do people really, honestly not see the difference there.

The OP asked a question. Didn't like the answer.

Asking questions on a public forum isn't for everyone especially when you only want answers in favour of your stupidity.

thats true, digestives and choc hobnobs are omg, but yes a bacon butty or even at a push a fried egg is ok

It was unfriendly from the beginning.

Her attitude? Absolutely!

murasaki · 05/04/2026 01:08

Going from her posts, the OP is either ND, entitled or an arse. Or a combination of them all.

Not that hard not to eat a biscuit on the shop floor.

IncessantFlames · 05/04/2026 01:08

pinenuts75 · 05/04/2026 00:50

Nobody would call me an entitled twat and get away with it

Challenge would be accepted if you came across me. I wouldn't hesitate to call it out if that's what it is. I don't care what your reaction would be. Grow up and stop being as such then people won't have need to say it.
Seems simple.

Sorry, you are now as dead to me. Can't stand the stuff. I'm plain with butter, DP has ketchup as he is a wrongun.

pinenuts75 · 05/04/2026 00:42

Omfg I’ve admitted I was wrong this is getting fucking boring now

You're free to abandon the thread but you don't seem to want to let it go.
I'd have the whole thing deleted tbh. Fancy highlighting your entitlement and then continuing to stomp your feet when told you're in the wrong then leaving it up for the world to read.
Imagine.

NotDonna · 05/04/2026 01:11

pinenuts75 · 04/04/2026 21:47

No I don’t think that’s it

Did you argue with your manager when she told you about the biscuit? Or just say ‘oops sorry’? Maybe she thinks you’re being purposefully defiant, maybe?

No, she didn't like the shit given with the answer.
It was always possible to answer questions pointing out errors of their ways or to give opinions without smugness, name calling and being crappy to another person.

If the OP feels like she was being bullied by her boss, her feelings were valid and not to be ridiculed at imo. Being pulled up for eating a biccy in front of customers and staff on the shop floor most certainly can lend to feeling bullied, on top of the vibe she already had. Bad management.

Sometimes there are better ways to do things. Goading someone into being rude then pointing out that they are being rude isn't the way to do it.

Not understanding that you can’t do that is strange. The Op getting an award and positive feedback doesn’t really indicate bullying

I think the award came from a different manager.

Garlic salt is fab. Scoop out the potato and mis with garlic salt, put the potato back in the skin, sprinkle a shitload of strong cheese over it and put under the grill till it melts,,,
