What are your favourite teabags? Currently like twinings everyday but trying to budget.

Rington's Extra Fresh...local family run company in The North East. Best tea in the world and the best ginger snaps! My Granny bought the tea 1910 onwards as did all the family and my Mam's family as well.
We still have a travelling salesman call with his basket of wares

Rington’s Gold is my absolute favourite. It knocks the socks off Yorkshire IMO. I don’t drink much tea but when I do it would be that. That said, I can only have decaf now and theirs is the best I’ve found in that too.

I agree about the ginger snaps too!!

Birchalls Great Rift is the bomb as regards tea bags. Super strong and never bitter.

However, I’m a loose tea convert and absolutely obsessed with the blends created by our local tea merchant in Warwick. DD (12) is very much enamoured with Tailor’s Morning After and Smoking Russian.

Twinings Strong English Breakfast Tea in the morning then Tetley decaf in the afternoon.

Sadly discontinued and replaced with Cherry Bakewell which has less of the zingy taste.

canyon2000 · 06/04/2026 17:00

Yorkshire tea here.
I haven't heard of lots of these brands and types of tea, so I have been daring and added Yorkshire bedtime and cherry bakewell to my Morrisons order as they are on offer☕️

I know this is a heinous crime, but Yorkshire biscuit tea 🫣

It's AMAZING! I have one a day. I also love their Night-time tea- vanilla & other stuff & you have it with milk.

NinetyNineRedBalloonsGoByAgain · 06/04/2026 17:04

Yorkshire in the morning

Two Yorkshire plus one Earl Grey blended in a teapot in the afternoon

Yorkshire bedtime tea in the evening

DistractMe · 06/04/2026 17:07

Lidl Assam

Tick Tock de caf in the morning, no milk.

Tick Tock decaf green tea after meals.

Twinnings sleepy before bed.

Bjorkdidit · 06/04/2026 19:22

Those of you who drink the biscuit flavour teas, do you have them black or with milk?

I've got chocolate digestive and another one I can't remember but not got round to drinking them yet.

Definitely with milk.

M&S Shortbread is also delish.

Ordered Ringtons Gold after your glowing recommendation.

Wow - it is good stuff. Gives a more robust brew than Yorkshire. ☕🫖👍

Does anyone rate Fortnum and masons? Someone I know buys them. Must be good.

What’s the worst tea anyone’s had? I feel like I recall it as Typhoo. The Liptons ones I’ve had abroad come a close second and whatever you buy in American supermarkets from my recollection.

So glad you like it! 😁 Robust is exactly how I’d describe it too. It almost makes Yorkshire tea seem weak.

Pleasenotequila · 27/04/2026 21:40

Redbush with vanilla

BaronessBomburst · 27/04/2026 21:56

Liptons is the worst tea ever.
I currently like Mark's & Spencer Extra Strong tea, or Lyons. Not so keen on Barry's or Yorkshire, and we've currently got Sainsbury's Red Label Extra Strong on the go but it's a bit insipid.
Clipper Earl Grey is nice too.

Bjorkdidit · 28/04/2026 03:18

Liptons seems to be universally unpopular but the only place I've ever seen it is in European hotels, where I usually drink coffee in the morning and fruit tea or alcohol in the afternoon/evenings. But I generally take my own teabags on holiday so I can have 'nice tea'. Don't judge me, otherwise, I'm very much about the local food and they don't take up any space in a suitcase.

I've always wondered about Ringtons - isn't it very expensive to have it delivered?
