What are your favourite teabags? Currently like twinings everyday but trying to budget.

Dorset tea or Yorkshire tea for me.

MsDastardley · 01/04/2026 13:48

I like Thompsons Red, Gold and Green. Get whatever is on offer. It’s a good price to begin with, no plastic in the bags either

Wonderknicks · 01/04/2026 13:49

I've always liked m&s gold but they changed them! Now on Waitrose gold after Aldi changed theirs to a very papery bag that splits & doesn't really let the water in properly to infused. Before that they were a fabulous alternative to m&s.

Lidl or Aldi Assam or Earl Grey.

MrsTrellisOgleddCymru · 01/04/2026 13:54

Murroughs Panad Welsh Tea - simply awesome and very reasonably priced.

Davros · 01/04/2026 13:56

M&S gold

ImogenBrocklehurst · 01/04/2026 13:57

M&S Empress Grey. Only one I use, now.

giddyboo · 01/04/2026 13:58

Co op red ones are nice.

RunsLikeaLittleFatDuck · 01/04/2026 13:59

M&S gold

MrsW9 · 01/04/2026 14:08

I know you said teabags, but have you considered loose leaf? The M&S extra strong loose leaf is good and inexpensive. We have an infuser pot and also an individual infuser.

UnderThePressure · 01/04/2026 14:08

Yorkshire Tea or Barry's, I like a nice strong cup of tea.

Littlebitpsycho · 01/04/2026 14:09

Clipper if we're feeling flush, or Yorkshire if we're not 🤣

I do have a teapot and strainer but how useful is it for just a cup?

Yorkshire every time.

I don't like their decaf so much so I have to slum it with M&S for those!

I do get Yorkshire decaff and sometimes Tetley decaff. And I buy tetley decaff green tea.

Yorkshire tea - DH bought a huge sack at B&M bargains or somewhere similar at the start of the year and it's lasted well.

Sainsbury's Red Label and M&S Red Label are just about acceptable alternatives. I might have to try M&S Gold based on the replies here though.

Rubbleonthedouble2 · 01/04/2026 14:15

Honestly some things are not worth budgeting on - caffeine is one of them imo (along with cream cheese, loo roll, coffee, vodka, shoes, coats and a mattress).

This is not an extensive list but it is the hill I'm willing to die on. Life is so miserable and bleak, we deserve a little treat.

AliasGrape · 01/04/2026 14:17

I also really like the Yorkshire Bedtime tea, though sometimes have to double up the teabag as it isn't very strong. (I don't mean caffeine wise, cos obviously it's decaf, but just flavour wise).

I wasn't mad on the biscuit one.

Weeelokthen · 01/04/2026 14:22

Anything but typhoid, I mean typhoo 😂

AimInCup · 01/04/2026 14:40

Twinings English Breakfast tea!!

1000StrawberryLollies · 01/04/2026 14:44

Farrer's Lakeland Special teabags - local company. Yorkshire Tea also quite good (but not the biscuit-flavoured abomination).

theallypallywasp · 01/04/2026 14:50

Sainsburys assam is the best of all (teabags) and half the price of Twinings

ExquisiteSocialSkills · 01/04/2026 14:54

Yorkshire.

Davros · 01/04/2026 15:09

I also use M&S half caff for my bedtime cuppa. I can’t bring myself to go full decaf

vicryl4 · 01/04/2026 15:16

Sainsbury's Assam tea bags make a nice tea and a good price.
I am very fond of Yorkshire biscuit brew, currently on offer in Waitrose.

12oclockandallswell · 01/04/2026 15:24

Another Thompsons Punjana (Red) fan here I buy from Amazon in a pack of 440 bags for £7.80
