The use name of the Scotland thread starter speaks volumes. I seem to be the only person on the thread who noticed.

Yes you are right and well spotted about the university fees. It's all so obvious.

On Friday Nigel Farage sought to minimise his personal relationship with Trump. “I happen to know him, but that’s by the by,” said the Reform UK leader.

Is this the same Kemi Badenoch who regularly insults him at PMQ?

Almost time for a new thread!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 12/04/2026 13:48

I was very pleased that this morning's sermon (by a visiting vicar as we are currently in an interregnum) was all about condemning the far right's attempt to claim Christianity as an excuse for racist and sectarian behaviour. He was particularly critical of Yaxley Lennon when I chatted to him after the service. 😁
@PandoraSocks has just beaten me to enquire about the next thread.

SerendipityJane · 12/04/2026 13:51

Casual observation suggests there really is a deep reluctance to mention Brexit from the Reform crowd. As predicted their schtick os blame lied squarely with the Tories, nothing to do with are Nige who was right all along.

That removes enough oxygen to snuff out continuing to ask about Trump.

placemats · 12/04/2026 14:02

I agree Serendipity

"Don't mention the war/Brexit" seems to be Reform's only hope now. As well as the collaborator Tories who have effectively kicked out the Remain politicians. I for one will welcome the squirming u turns.

By the by, I have this week discovered that big planters can be lined with cardboard and fleece lined. All porous. To save on compost you can put tin cans upside down on the base. Handy! 😉

PickAChew · 12/04/2026 14:20

It's almost as if these idiots on the right don't think we keep receipts. Farage in particular seems to forget that it's not like the good old days where ordinary people had to furtle through boxes of old newspapers in the loft to unearth the latest way in which he's contradicted himself.

Badenoch doesn't know what she said last week, though she thinks this is a usp that's good.

We are never going to speak about it. And I may need the next few weeks off work to avoid the piss taking I’m currently getting.
