I see them as single wear items.

WittyJadeStork · 22/03/2026 11:00

Daily but if I get them wet or muddy I’ll change them.

MrThorpeHazell · 22/03/2026 11:00

Daily. They are a wear once item.

CharlotteRumpling · 22/03/2026 11:01

Single use. Unless am travelling and run out. Like knickers.

Sandcaaarstle · 22/03/2026 11:01

Every day. Who wouldn’t?

2chocolateoranges · 22/03/2026 11:01

I only wear socks when I’m out the house and wear them once and wash.

i leave the house at 11 am and get home at 6pm and take socks off as soon as I’m home. Would rather walk about with bare feet.

Every day. Who wouldn’t?

There was quite a few saying every few days if they were just lounging round the house.

Daily, although if I get changed during the day I might get a new pair then as well.

MakeMineAMilkyTea · 22/03/2026 11:02

Daily or multiple times a day if needed depending on what I’m doing. Walking on holiday, going for a walk in summer, gym, charging from trainers to shoes etc.

dontforgetme · 22/03/2026 11:02

Fresh pair daily, surely?! I see socks like underwear, fresh knickers and socks every day.

ReignOfError · 22/03/2026 11:02

At least daily, more often if they’ve got wet or muddy, or if I’ve worn them to the gym, or they are walking socks.

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 22/03/2026 11:03

I was about to say daily then saw your second comment. With merino hiking socks if I've just worn them for a couple of hours I would wear them another day. I don't really have sweaty/smelly feet though.

HappyAsASandboy · 22/03/2026 11:03

Clean pair every morning, and another clean pair if I shower in the middle of the day/go swimming/otherwise take my socks off!

I would rather not put already-worn socks back on basically. So a clean pair every time I take them off!

EvilNextDoor · 22/03/2026 11:03

Daily…

I get very cold feet at night so have particular pairs I wear at night but again these are changed daily, at most they are worn on 2 consecutive nights.

Scampuss · 22/03/2026 11:04

Shop-bought socks daily.
Handknitted wool socks will get a few wears before washing.

Agree with all of this. I can't get my head around not changing them every day.

BarbarianBabs · 22/03/2026 11:06

Mostly change after each wear, the only exception to this being my home made house socks. They are over 75% wool, quite thick and I use them in the way someone might use slippers. Because the wool content is so high, you can get away with not washing so frequently so I might wear them 3 or 4 times before washing and even then they don’t smell by the time they are put in for a wash.

BUT as mentioned I wear them in the way someone would use slippers, round the house and would never wear them in shoes so perhaps the fact they are not enclosed in shoes also helps.

SmokeySmokeyBacon · 22/03/2026 11:06

Cotton socks, daily unless not leaving the house, then I would wear for 2 days probably.

Wool socks, depends what I'm doing in them, but up to 3 days if not walking far.

My feet don't ever sweat though, and smell just the same as my knees or any other body part! So on the basis that I don't change jeans or jumpers every day, which are actually in close proximity to potentially stinky body parts (!) I don't see why I need to change socks every day either.

TofuGoblin · 22/03/2026 11:07

Single use. Once they're off they don't go back on. Sometimes 1 pair a day, sometimes it can be 3 or 4

Caterina99 · 22/03/2026 11:07

Regular socks, daily. Obviously if wet or muddy etc then changed as needed.

I do have thick slipper socks I wear on an evening to watch tv and first thing on a morning before I get dressed (because my house is freezing). I probably wear them for a couple of days because they’re probably only worn for 2 or 3 hours a day

Yes same for me, fresh pair of socks daily or if they get wet before the end of the day. If I'm hiking I might reuse my hiking socks if I've only worn them a couple of hours and not been walking strenuously. I actually only have one pair I absolutely love which is part of this, I need to get a second pair!

Same for slipper socks if I'm just around the house I might reuse those if I haven't worn them much, especially if I've just hoovered and mopped and my floors are really clean.

I see them as single wear items.

This is the only answer needed.

mondaytosunday · 22/03/2026 11:25

I don’t wear socks at home (I wear slippers - which I resisted when young but love now, my mum would be so happy)! So socks when out and I tend to take them off when I get home, so may only be wearing them for two to four hours. So two days, which I think together would add up to one day in terms of hours! When I worked in an office for eight plus hours it was one wear only.

Wynter25 · 22/03/2026 11:27

Daily. Not slipper socks tho

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 22/03/2026 11:30

Daily for normal socks, but I have big chunky lambswool socks I wear in bed and those I wear a few nights before washing.
