True - it's at least a start.

Re Farage - people on Threads seem to think he’s gone to Mar. A Lago to see Trump. If this is true, surely something can be done to stop a sitting MP actively working with a foreign leader to undermine the government?

Still 60 Reform councillors though :(

Would there be if they were all up for election? We don’t know what actual feeling is and whether people regret those votes this one was interesting because it was a low turnout - that normally favours Reform.

Is he fuck there to discuss Chagos.
He's there to promote himself and undermine the government.
Traitorous twat.

He has no right to do so anyway. He’s not a member of the government. He can’t make decisions for the U.K. This sort of thing needs to be stopped.

BIossomtoes · 06/03/2026 11:08

It does need to be stopped. As does the obscene income stream he generates outside parliament. It’s risible that anyone would consider him anywhere close to appropriate as PM.

The first Labour gain since the 2025 local elections. Welcome news.

BIWI · 06/03/2026 11:18

And who is paying for Fartage's trip I wonder?

DuncinToffee · 06/03/2026 11:22

From the Guardian

Attending a ‘Save Chagos Boat Party’ yesterday, Farage said he would be flying to Florida to dine with the US president on Friday, GB News reported.

He said: We think this is the central plan for this government’s foreign policy and we are beating them back. President Trump has almost understood the deal, but I will be dining at Mar-a-Lago tomorrow night and we will reinforce the message.

Anywhere but Clacton

Yet she was worried this time last year about the prospect of war. She said:

I thank the Prime Minister for that answer. All of us in this House know that the British armed forces are a huge source of pride to our country. They put themselves in harm’s way to defend our values. As the Opposition, we support efforts to resolve the conflict, but we cannot write a blank cheque. If British peacekeeping troops in Ukraine were attacked—whether directly or via proxies—we could be drawn into conflict with Russia. Can the Prime Minister reassure all those who are concerned about the UK being drawn into war?

The British Armed Forces are a source of pride in this country, I agree. Let down by successive governments- think of the cuts going back to the 1980s, the military housing sell off, the policies in the noughties.

Almost every cutback in the armed forces going back to post Suez has also been under Tory governments.

And who is paying for Fartage's trip I wonder?

In the past his trips to the US have been paid for by crapto investor Christopher Harborne (he's paid multiple times), the racist NY Young republicans group, venture capitalist billionaire Sasan Ghandehari, Bassim Haidar (Lebanese billionaire) and George Cottrell (not sure where his money has come from).

All in the name of working for UK citizens you understand. 😉

I'm sure he has investors that think they can make a dollar or two in war.

They also own Bild, don't they?

Not sure what this will mean for the Telegraph going forward, ideally it couldn't get any worse, but who knows?

BIossomtoes · 06/03/2026 13:44

Evading the ownership of the DM stable is good news.

A statement:

Axel Springer chief executive, Mathias Dopfner, said he wanted to "preserve the distinctive character and legacy" of The Telegraph.

To be honest I'm not sure what that is but apparently the sports section is good.

BIossomtoes · 06/03/2026 14:04

The distinctive character and legacy was abandoned some time around 2016. It’s been a comic for the last few years.

Sports section always was. Rest of the paper has gone downhill.

As a whippersnapper, Russell Howard had a brief routine where he explained the papers for foreigners. Myst be 20 years old now. But the highlights were:

Daily Mail : Don't go out there. It's all immigrants. Look at our house prices.
Express: As above but with "It would all be wonderful if Diana were here"
I can't remember the others, but he ended with one shouted word for "The Telegraph"

"CRICKET !!!"

So Farage isn't party to the governments plans, but is taking his thoughts to Trump who hasn't got a fucking clue either, and doesn't understand what he does know.

That's going to end well.

If Trump can decide who runs Iran, he can decide who runs Britain.

Spandauer · 06/03/2026 15:16

Fartage's trip to the US re Chagos Islands has really pissed me off - much more than usual for some reason. Probably because Drumpf is involved and they (US) will use it as another opportunity to denigrate Starmer, the UK, Sadiq Khan (of course) and us 'poor unfortunate souls' who 'have' to live here.

Why does this pathetic little gurning oik with a mere handful of MPs get to twat around like he has any governmental influence?!
Is there no parliamentary process where he can be told to shut up? 😤
(Rhetorical question)

I am still a bit on the fence about Polanski, but this is 🔥🔥🔥
