US strikes Iran

In conjunction with Israel.
Why? Starting wars has never ever ended well for the US, or for the country they are trying to 'help.'

No idea. Israel Channel 12 reporting Ayatollah dead, also Prime Minister. Pretty sure there has been a big strike on a compound where he was thought to be.

I thought he had fled the country prior to the strikes or was that just a rumour?

BerthaPotts · 28/02/2026 14:52

If they really have been killed then I hope they cease the bombing now.

It would be a good time for the army to corner the Guards backing whatever is left of the Regime and take over. Then hand the power to a temporary government. Let's see.

Those dastardly Jews Zionists eh!

lol. I’m sure Netanyahu is a good bloke. Not sure why he’s been in the White House 7 times over the last few months, not sure why why people think Epstein was Mossad. Probs he was working for Russia ✌️

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards chief and the country’s defence minister have both been killed in US-Israeli air strikes, according to reports.

Mohammed Pakpour and Amir Nasirzadeh are believed to have been targeted by Israeli missiles, three sources told Reuters.

There has also been speculation that Ali Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader, may have been injured or possibly killed in a separate strike. This was denied by Iran’s foreign secretary.

Posting with disclaimer everything needs to be waited on and doubled up on as info

Fuck fuck, FUCK 😱

WaryCrow · 28/02/2026 14:55

I wonder where the plan is for post regime change? Plans have been so detailed and worked so well in the past… haven’t they?

BerthaPotts · 28/02/2026 14:58

If the Ayatollah has been killed, who will take over? My concern is this will increase the instability in Iran right now. I know the Shah is really keen to take over but he hasn't been elected. What if he turns out to be a dictator and it's just the other side of the same coin.

Very interesting call in and experts on all sorts from LBC radio.

As usual ,some say the us and Israel has lit a fire they can't control but mostly and inclduing many Iranian callers they are absolutely delighted.

There’s videos coming out of celebrations in the streets in Tehran.

The Iranian protestors have been begging for outside help in toppling the regime. When it failed to materialize weeks ago there was a very real sense of anger and betrayal.

There is genuine pro-Israel sentiment in Iran. The history of friendship between Jews and Persians goes back centuries, and there is desire to return to that. That this also suits American and Israeli interests not negate this. I do hope that regime change this time round does mean aiding Iranians establishing democracy, and that is something Iran will require regional and international support with.

Persians and Palestinians are not natural allies. At all. Do not expect them to be pro-Gaza, and that any pro-Israel stance is manufactured.

It all went so well in Iraq ...

DomPom47 · 28/02/2026 15:07

It’s about oil. The US thanks to lobbying groups will do what a certain country tells them to do. A puppet monarch will be put in charge - so much for bringing democracy to the people and helping the Iranians. The head of the only democracy in the Middle East has implied that Turkey will be next for their plan. Obviously people will come along and say nope that will not happen as Turkey is a NATO partner which is all rubbish as when that happens NATO will not give any support to Turkey or do anything to stop the so called only democracy in the Middle East which isn’t actively committing a genocide.

If Iranians do celebrate do you think it’s the wrong reaction?

MushMonster · 28/02/2026 15:09

I do have my fears that it may follow the same or similar path to Iraq indeed.

damsela · 28/02/2026 15:11

Can reporters report freely now and is SM and internet active again I wonder? Probably a bit early but it would help to get the full picture eventually.

My view on this is, if the Iranians are happy, so am I for them. The analyses can happen later.

All these ellipses. Surely you’re hoping Iranians will thrive? Or not

Iran is not Iraq. The situations are not at all comparable.

If people want to hear the horror in Iran listen to LBC.

So the Ayatollahs are preferable then, on account of having the correct opinion when it comes to Gaza?

And the Libyans and recently the Syrians, in fact the Alawites in Syria gave up their weapons to the new regime, only to be executed soon after.......

Who would these people be? The satanic paedophiles trafficking and torturing children?

Don't be ridiculous. Middle East experts advising military generals, that kind of thing.

Trump wants regime change in America's interest. Most probably for the sake of his boundless fucking narcissm. Netanyahu wants regime change because Iran has been threatening Israel both with words and with violence through its proxies since 1979. Many Iranians want regime change because they want a better life- in particular the women.

Its not about the Epstein files, Trumps teflon in the US anyway.

And of course bombing a regime is likely to force regime change.

The uncertainty is who takes over and what their plan is.
