In conjunction with Israel.
Why? Starting wars has never ever ended well for the US, or for the country they are trying to 'help.'

What do you mean by 'superior western media" i trust that they endeavor to ensure their sources are verified before reporting to us, the public

"It didn’t happen.
And if it did, it wasn't us,
Ok we did it and it wasn’t that bad.
And if it was bad, that’s not a big deal.
And if it is, that’s not our fault.
And if it was, We didn’t mean it.
And if we did, you made us do it"

and we bombed it because someone was hiding there
but we can’t say who gov or even verify
we’ll just wait till you all forget and make a statement in a few years
but only if we have to

@Stiraboutdo you really not feel anything for Iranians up against a brutal regime?

Have you looked at anything on what they do?

SpaceRaccoon · 28/02/2026 18:38

I mean the Iranian regime keep saying Khomenei is going to appear "live on TV" and it's been some hours now.

They're not exactly on close acquaintance with the truth.

This is the exact same playback as Hamas. One of your shitty missiles misfire and Israel is conveniently blamed.

There’s videos coming out of celebrations in the streets in Tehran.

The Iranian protestors have been begging for outside help in toppling the regime. When it failed to materialize weeks ago there was a very real sense of anger and betrayal.

There is genuine pro-Israel sentiment in Iran. The history of friendship between Jews and Persians goes back centuries, and there is desire to return to that. That this also suits American and Israeli interests not negate this. I do hope that regime change this time round does mean aiding Iranians establishing democracy, and that is something Iran will require regional and international support with.

Persians and Palestinians are not natural allies. At all. Do not expect them to be pro-Gaza, and that any pro-Israel stance is manufactured.

I said the Iranian regime's account of what happened is almost certainly untrue.

They're lying about everything else - why would you choose to believe this?

Do you think they're being honest about only hitting military targets in the UAE when we can all see that a hotel is on fire?

When do you think the Ayatollah will appear on state TV to prove that he's alive, given they're saying he's not dead?

Have looked up all the news pieces on the hotel ( only one article notes casualties ie four injured so far )

Information so far is unknown whether it was hit by a bomb or fallout debris from the sky when two missiles collided
No newspaper has verified

So just as
I’ll wait and see re the school
I’ll wait and see re the hotel

Definitely not preferable - they do not represent the Iranian people. My point is that this is nothing to do with the Iranian people and bringing democracy to them. This is for oil and doing the bidding of Israel. This will not bring stability to the region, there will be a puppet monarch in charge who will be just as crap when it comes to human rights and voting as the Ayatollahs.

In your opinion. You actually believe that Iran is being attacked for it's oil. 🙄

Further up thread a poster shared a video of Iranians cheering the strikes. Interesting that Iranian people want the regime gone.

Yes I am not naive. It is for the oil for the US and causing as much disruption as possible for the Middle East in the long term for Netanyahu and the current Israeli government. The regime change will be a proxy government. Rather than a crazy religious leader there will be a crazy monarch in place. No democracy. Just read what the Israeli leadership have been saying and see how things in Iraq played out.

Are you saying the hotel might not have been hit by an Iranian missile?

If so, you better let the UAE government know - because they've just issued a warning to Iran that they might join in with the US and Israeli strikes as a result of the bombing. And Saudi Arabia has said the same

This is quite a surprising post once you decode it-

Paragraph 1- cast doubt on the claims that the regime has been murdering its own.

Paragraph 2- accuse the people protesting in Iran of murdering children.

Paragraph 3- plant a seed that its all Mossad's doing anyway.

Paragraph 4- refers to people in Iran some of whom support the regime some who don't, then mentions the 1953 coup critically but doesnt mention the much more significant 1979 coup. Then mentions that their friends in Iran would stand in support with Palestinians rather than with Israel, and that they'd definitely not wish to normalize relations with Israel- so they don't want peace? These friends sound... familiar...

You're quite something Belle.

It is indeed an interesting post. Not surprised though.

Iran’s parents had just dropped their children off for class on Saturday morning when they found themselves racing back to school gates, as bombs began to fall across the country in a joint US-Israel attack.
At one elementary school, according to Iran’s state-controlled media, they arrived to find devastation. At least 80 children had been killed in the strike on Shajareh Tayyebeh girls’ school in Minab, southern Iran, the IRNA news agency reported, with dozens more unaccounted for.
In one video circulating on social media, purportedly showing the immediate aftermath of the strike, smoke rises from the burnt-out walls, and debris lies spread across the road. Hundreds of onlookers gathered at the site, some in obvious distress. Screams can be heard in the background. The report of the bombing, its death toll and the video’s source could not immediately be independently verified by the Guardian. Persian factchecking service Factnameh was able to cross-reference the video with other photographs of the school site, and concluded that the video was authentic. Reuters said it had also verified the footage as being from the school.
The school appears to be adjacent to a Revolutionary Guards barracks. If the death toll is confirmed, the school bombing would be the largest mass casualty event of the US-led attack so far.’

An opinion? Of course you can have an opinion. You can even feel 'overjoyed' about countries getting bombed, I'm not stopping you from celebrating war. I can have an opinion too though and I think that being 'overjoyed' by a war that will never hurt you is pretty stomach churning.

I’m not celebrating war I’m celebrating an evil regime being toppled there’s a huge difference even if your brain can’t make it.

TheFilliesWillRiseAgain · 28/02/2026 19:29

Here's a thought - if the Iranians want us to believe that the US / Israel bombed a school they could:

a) Let someone independent check, and

b) Admit they've been lying about quite a few things, such as all their missiles hitting civilians targets all over the Middle East.

Incidentally, while the Ayatollah is definitely not dead, because that's what the Iranians told us earlier today, he's also just cancelled a speech we were told he would be making in the next few hours

If so, you better let the UAE government know - because they've just issued a warning to Iran that they might join in with the US and Israeli strikes as a result of the bombing. And Saudi Arabia has said the same

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest US base in the region.

.The UAE ministry of defence said in a statement on X, external that it intercepted a number of drones and missiles, and called the Iranian strikes a "blatant violation of national sovereignty and international law"

So
This really isn’t news for these countries and their statements are no surprise
None of the statements mention the hotel though….do they !

Heres the UAE statement from their
Ministry of Foreign affairs

‘ UAE Condemns in Strongest Terms Iran’s Blatant Missile Attacks Targeting the Country and Brotherly Nations
Sat 28/2/2026
General

The United Arab Emirates has condemned and denounced in the strongest terms the blatant Iranian missile attacks that targeted the UAE and several brotherly nations in the region, considering these acts a flagrant violation of national sovereignty and a clear breach of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) affirmed the UAE’s full solidarity and unwavering support for the countries in the region affected by these attacks, emphasizing that their security is indivisible and that any infringement on the sovereignty of any state constitutes a direct threat to the security and stability of the entire region.

The UAE reaffirmed its categorical rejection of the use of the territories of regional states as arenas for settling disputes or expanding the scope of conflict, warning of the grave consequences of continued violations, which undermine regional and international security and threaten global economic stability and energy security.

The UAE reiterated its call for restraint and a recourse to diplomatic solutions and serious dialogue, emphasizing that this remains the most effective path to overcoming the current crisis and safeguarding regional security and stability.

The UAE underscored that it retains its full and legitimate right to respond to these attacks in a manner that safeguards its sovereignty, national security, and territorial integrity, and ensures the safety of its citizens and residents, in accordance with international law. The UAE will not tolerate any compromise to its security or sovereignty under any circumstances.

The UAE conveyed its sincere condolences and deepest sympathies to the family of the Pakistani national who lost his life as a result of these attacks, expressing its full solidarity with them. The UAE stressed that the targeting of civilians and civilian objects is unequivocally condemned and strictly prohibited under international law and humanitarian principles.’
