It's all too much isn't it? You are doing a great job juggling everything, it sounds as if you will manage some sleep perhaps? Fingers crossed for the laundry pile, you will enjoy the clean sheets at least! One of life's little luxuries.

Feet seem to be healing so far, I must say I was alarmed when the nurse sliced off the blisters but apparently that's the modern treatment 😯

TodayIsatrickyone · 18/02/2026 14:07

Oh no @Oioiqueen how stressful! And so frustrating when it’s recently decorated too. Definitely not a good way to start the day especially when you have so much else to deal with.

@MewithME moan away! You have an awful lot on your plate. I find stuff overwhelming with this illness and I’m not juggling work on top anymore. Hope you can power through, get it done and rest. The laundry etc can wait.

That does sound a bit alarming @TeaAndStrumpets but great theyre healing quickly.

Swanhilde · 18/02/2026 14:11

I made it out! Mooched around the local farmers' market and then had a delicious lunch of all the wrong things 😋

Back now and in bed resting, but feeling content (probably the 🍷) ☺️

Take it easy @TeaAndStrumpets , those scolds sound v painful 😖

Thanks - last night I was trying to decide whether my feet or my sinuses were hurting the most, and was still debating this when I fell asleep!

chroniciconic · 18/02/2026 14:47

Sleeping, mostly! I just got back from a few days' trip yesterday with quite a lot of walking, so I'm resting up before returning to part-time work tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about the burns. I also burned my foot (top of right foot) a few years ago, we were at a cafe at the beach in Dorset and I spilt boiling water on it from a takeaway cup of tea

Second degree burn, was really painful.

Went to a minor injury clinic nearby and they also cut the blisters off. They cleaned and dressed it, and then back home saw the nurse at the GPs where they changed the dressing etc for a few weeks and it healed quite well.

I hope yours heals up well too, maybe they can do the same at the GPs.

TeaAndStrumpets · 18/02/2026 15:45

@Orangesandlemons77 ouch how awful to happen on holiday. I am hoping to get sent to GP nurse for follow ups, I'll see what they say. Our nearest big hospital is awful, although the staff are nice they are overwhelmed with numbers. And of course the parking costs a lot (if you can find a space!)

I love a good mooch 😊

I've conked out for today. Having a lie down now. Phew! (Sheets still not fresh.... Oh well. Advantage of being single guess).

What a thing to wake up to @Oioiqueen :(

Mooching sounds nice @Swanhilde

@MewithME enjoy your lie down.

I've been changing my bed sheets etc gradually over the last few days - pillowcases yesterday, sheet today. Got a coverless duvet which has been a great discovery. I would love a cleaner just to change the bed, scrub the shower cubicle and put the bins out. And deal with the mass of packaging from always having to get things delivered!

Worked today, with lots of breaks - pretty much ready for bed now.

TeaAndStrumpets · 18/02/2026 17:15

@martha79 my technique exactly! I change the pillow cases more often than the sheet, and the sheet (much) more often than the duvet cover. Every so often I go mad and change everything at once, but staggering the job is easier on the laundry pile.

Oh I would love someone like a hotel housekeeper just to sort out bedding and shower. Never mind the rest of the house, it'll do!

FuzzyPuffling · 18/02/2026 22:17

I'm here at last!
Sorry, had to ask for directions. I'll start at the beginning and get back to you...

Stressybetty · 18/02/2026 22:22

I went through a phase of changing the sheet and pillowcase every week and the duvet cover every other week. Lately it's been the whole lot around every 3/4 weeks. Just too tired and keep forgetting.
It really needs doing now, we have dogs on it. 😔

Morning all!

Off to get my dressings changed this morning, I've found some mules to wear so I can keep my feet dry.

It's gone quite miserable again here, some sunshine would be nice!

Hope you all have a good day.

Dozymoo42 · 19/02/2026 09:33

Morning everyone 😊 having a slow WFH day today.

No rain this morning so fingers crossed that continues!

Hope the dressing change goes well @TeaAndStrumpetsand yay! On locating the Mules hope they are comfy 😊

FuzzyPuffling · 19/02/2026 10:14

Managed a shower and hair wash, hung a load of washing on the line ( eternal optimist) and am having a sit down now. No further plans today- might need to go to the supermarket later.
Exciting. Not.

Tiredandwired2 · 19/02/2026 10:15

Hi all,
Can I rejoin? I can't believe it was about 3 months ago I last posted.

Still managing long covid but in a much better place. To be honest im not sure I still belong here. Since my POTs medication i have had to relearn my overdoing it signals and im unsure if i get PEM or if i am just pacing well. Its a lot of trial and error. I just hate the error!

Half term here and weathers been awful. Mostly pottering around the house, dog walks, taking DD to friends. DS who is autistic hasn't got dressed or seen sunlight in 3 days so going to tempt him out with a treat of some sort. Maybe to the local park and grab and nice hot drink. Did manage to make some banana bread yesterday which i am looking forward to later.

@TeaAndStrumpets Ouch! hope it heals well!

Swanhilde · 19/02/2026 10:16

Rest day here, clearing my system of yesterday's overindulgence (totally worth it) and preparing to travel home tomorrow 🛏️☕

Feel so much better than I did when we arrived. Reminder that total rest is often what is needed 💕

Hope the dressing change isn't too painful @TeaAndStrumpets 🩹 🩹 🩹

BerfyTigot · 19/02/2026 10:46

@Tiredandwired2 I'm in a similar situation. I have recovered a bit from fibromyalgia, only occasional pain. Still need lots more rest than I used to and am always careful. Absolutely trial and error. I'm thinking about trying one of those Visible bands.

I posted on here saying that I felt like a fraud being on here, but people seemed happy have me around still.

It's an odd situation.

JewelleryCat · 19/02/2026 10:52

I think I twisted my knee when I slept so I’ve put some volatrol on it and just resting

FuzzyPuffling · 19/02/2026 10:55

DH has volunteered to do the supermarket run without me. What a star! He's a great shopper.
( Happily we live 100yds away from the supermarket so that bit is easy!)

I’d love to live that close to the supermarket! I have to get online groceries but if you want a recommendation , I recommend Ocado

FurForksSake · 19/02/2026 11:03

Hi all, chronic illness isn’t the same for all of us, and that’s ok. Some of us have ups and downs and some of us have more consistent symptoms. That’s ok. I like the friendship and empathy that is in here and that people get when things are hard and are pleased when things are a little easier.

im starting some online therapy sessions next week and going back to work. I’m still not ok about going back but it is what it is.

We moved 3 years ago from a very remote area ( no Ocado!) and accessibility to Things We Need was a driving factor.
